JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the provision and development of the job coaching programme in IES. The incumbent is expected to implement, manage and develop job coaching programme that supports the vocational training for persons with mental health conditions who are not employment ready. The incumbent will supervise the operation of the on-the-job vocational training, conduct training evaluation and recommend measures that enhance client’s employability, self-efficacy, and readiness to entre/re-enter the workforce. He is expected to work in the community setting where it involves travelling to various training sites. He is also expected to conduct himself in a professional manner in order to maintain and develop partnerships with various stakeholders in service of our clients
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Devise, plan and implement job coaching strategies that utilizes clients' strengths and capability.
2. Develop job coaching framework, processes and training curriculum to support the on-the-job vocational training programme. These include intake assessment process, evaluation toolkits, training improvement programmes, matching criteria, and transitional processes.
3. Supervise clients in vocational training, help them adjust to the training environments and equip them with skills and competencies to prepare them for competitive employment. This includes:
a) Evaluate clients’ performance at the vocational training units.
b) Provide on/off-the-job supervision and intervention through basic counseling, job coaching, and conflict resolution.
c) Conduct on-the-job skill enhancements and fine-tuning work habits to promote the clients’ competency and resilience
d) Conduct employment related training and workshops.
4. Supervise Job Coach in the provision of services to clients who are undergoing the vocational training.
5. Develop and maintain partnerships with employers and stakeholders who provide training, internship or employment opportunities for clients. This can include
a. Providing assessment and recommendations on necessary workplace and process modifications in support of clients.
b. Provide training and advisory to employers, supervisors and co-workers in building natural supports.
c. Optimize job and training placement processes with employers and partners for efficiency and effectiveness.
d. Maintain good communication and relations with various partners.
6. Timely submission of training documentation including assessment reports, evaluation report, and recommendation report. Adheres to strict internal and regulatory reporting requirements of IES (e.g. service reports, statistics, and evaluations)
7. Collaborate with the Occupational Therapist, Rehabilitation Counselors and other professionals in IES to provide a continuum of care in IES.
8. Be involved in case discussion, case presentation and case conference.
9. Any other duties and functions assigned by the Reporting Officer
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in psychology or equivalent
- 2-3 years of job coaching experience in the social service sector is preferred.
- Job coaching in other service sector can be considered
- Experience in developing and/or maintaining partnerships with various stakeholders is a plus
- Passion to serve in the social service sector and able to work with Persons with Mental Health Conditions (PMHC).
- Good team spirit with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to build relationships with clients, employers and caregivers.
- Must be able to prioritize tasks and work independently
