Gilead currently has three shared services teams in Ireland, North America and Singapore to support the worldwide business,. The Global Financial Solutions (GFS) focus is on delivering innovative financial services & solutions to achieve a better, healthier world for all people.

General Job Requirements:
Reporting to the RTR Lead of GFS APAC, this position will be responsible for contributing to the Gilead’s Financial Shared Service Centre and will have primary responsibility for the successful operation of the Record to Report (RTR) function in the GFS Centre in Singapore.
The customers for the RTR processes will be represented by Finance Directors of the Gilead countries in the AsiaPac Region and along with the broader finance team and business stakeholders.
Position Specific Job Requirements:
- The development of strong relationships with stakeholders
- contribution to the definition of service standards and continuous management of service level agreements
- maintains ledger integrity and ensures financial compliance with the worldwide Controller’s manual and to all applicable laws and regulations
- responsible for the timely and accurate review and posting of month end close and accounting transactions; preparation P&L and balance sheet account analysis, review, reconciliation & resolution
- ensure financial records are in compliance with GAAP. Consistently maintains appropriate internal controls and upholds company policies & procedures including Worldwide Controller’s manual
- interacts successfully with local market Finance and external service providers (e.g. auditor) by providing timely & accurate data and communication
- evaluates processes and recommends & implements process improvements
- helps develop, maintain and assess internal controls related to Gilead’s accounting and financial reporting systems
- responsible for the accounting and reporting requirements under U.S. and local GAAP
- work on ad-hoc projects as assigned and as necessary
- excellent interpersonal skills - the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and different cultures
- ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence diverse audiences
- Willing to learn with can-do attitude
Knowledge, experience, competencies:
- 5 years+ relevant experience in a multi-national environment
- Knowledge of the Biotech or pharmaceutical industry including market regulation and compliance would serve as a distinct advantage
- Accounting/ Finance / Business degree or MBA
- ACA/ACCA/CPA qualification is preferred - Big 4 or similar practice accounting background a distinct advantage
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS accounting principles and practices
- Experience in interacting with external and internal auditors along with detailed knowledge and experience of SOX Compliance
- Working knowledge and experience of Oracle and SAP or similar ERP product
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Outlook, PPT and Word), Advanced Excel level required.
- Self-starter and able to act on own initiative
- Self-driven with high levels of integrity, excellence and teamwork.
- Excellent problem solving skills and ability to be detail oriented
- Capable of managing multiple priorities simultaneously, working under pressure and to meet strict reporting deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (oral, written, presentational);
- Project Management skills and experience desirable
- Demonstrates team work and collaborate approach to work
- Able to communicate openly and across different functions, levels and regions
- Fluency in both written and spoken English & Mandarin a must, knowledge of Japanese/Korean is a plus
