KEY ACCOUNTAIBILITIES

· Support the CFO in meeting delegated GI Chief Actuary responsibilities

· Lead month-end valuation of insurance liabilities, internal financial reporting, ensuring key movements and deviations from Plan are clearly communicated to key stakeholders

· Lead the regular forecasts, business plan and other ad-hoc forecast exercises for GI business

· Lead MAS reporting and be the key contact person liaising with external Certifying Actuary on actuarial and valuation matters

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science

· 8 to 10 years in building and implementing models, preferably in the insurance industry.

· Strong knowledge about (i) Singapore RBC and other reporting requirements that general insurers in Singapore have to comply with

· Strong programming skills; R, Python or SQL is a plus

Job Responsibilities:

• Responsible for collecting creative ideas for game selection, brainstorming ideas for effective marketing materials
• Able to design the overall framework, core gameplay, game objectives, and plan on game eco systems for small games independently

The Nat Cat Pricer analyses and prices P&C reinsurance treaty business for assigned markets and lines of business. The role also participates in developing, cultivating and maintaining the Pricing & Modelling community, driving innovation and fostering a culture of service through various projects.

Key duties and responsibilities

Support Cat Modelling, Pricing and Accumulation:

• Provide treaty reinsurance catastrophe modelling support to underwriters. Analyse cedant exposure/modelled results received from clients/brokers and import into vendor risk modelling environment for in-house modelling
• Support the delivery of catastrophe risk pricing of treaty reinsurance using those vendor models, experience and/or internally developed tools as per SCOR process and guidelines
• Support the monitoring and validate used capacity using specific tools
• Contribute to the development and implementation of consistent process and procedures for pricing, and best practices for modelling, including tool development
• Be a reference for one or more markets
• Mentoring of interns

Analytics:

• Support projects and follow-up questions / modelling assumptions brought up by underwriters and/or analysts
• Collaborate in transverse initiatives (Cat Systems, Analytics and Governance, wider Reinsurance or Specialty Insurance units)

Project / Research:

Experience

• At least 2 years’ work experience in the financial services industry, preferably in reinsurance/insurance with a focus on analytical and/or actuarial work, for instance the development and structuring of reinsurance products, financial instruments, and pricing tools
• Excellent academic qualifications including a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, actuarial science, other scientific discipline (statistics, physics, natural science), economics or finance
• An advanced degree (master’s or PhD) would be a plus
• Insurance qualification or actuarial credentials are strongly preferred
• Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office (Proficiency in Excel). SQL, GIS. Programming skills ideally in R or Python

Client Management Services operates within Operations & Technology and is a centralised, global function, which supports the business by delivering and operating its client lifecycle services. CMS has an operational presence across 4 locations, including Singapore. CMS includes functions such as Know Your Client Onboarding, Client Maintenance, Client Offboarding, Client Regulatory, Client Integration Assessment and Client Services.

About Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) Team

The EDD team operates within the CMS framework and is primarily responsible for performing due diligence beyond what is performed by the KYC Team for customers with high-risk indicia. From a risk framework perspective, the EDD Team is situated within the first line of defence and works closely with Financial Crime to ensure the proper governance of high-risk customers at onboarding and refresh. The process operates within strict adherence to the client’s organisation defined Financial Crime – Anti Money Laundering polices.

Overall Purpose of the role

The role holder will primarily undertake the responsibilities of analysing and advising the business on the risk presented by high-risk customers. The responsibilities also will include report writing and detailed memos documentation of the thought process in identifying financial crime risk.

Responsibilities:

Key accountabilities

• Comprehensive EDD report writing skills covering the key risks identified for the client and the extent to which these risks can be mitigated, or actions that need to be carried out to protect the bank.
• Providing advice on the client’s risk profile (e.g., PEP entity assessment, and the rationale) and whether any gaps or material concerns were found.
• Advise on the individuals associated with the corporate entity, i.e., PEP.
• Research and analysis of complex financial crime AML news.
• Execution of additional screenings as may be required during EDD work.
• Knowledge of corporate governance structures and be able to advise on the risks and the evidence obtained.
• Understanding and verifying the Source of Wealth, in depth Nature of Business analysis and the Source of Funds.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor Degree in Banking/Accountancy/ Finance/ Business Administration or related equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in financial services
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Know Your Customer, Due Diligence, or Enhanced Due Diligence.
• Experience in and have strong understanding of AML, Sanctions, governance and regulatory control frameworks and best practices.
• Knowledge and understanding of the risk association (PEP, MSB, etc.) and AML red flags.

• Business fluency in Chinese to read and understand documents in Chinese would be an advantage, as there would be documents and communication received in Chinese for this role
