The Information Technology division supports the dynamic financial business through the development of a strategic infrastructure for the Nomura offices across the globe. IT partners with the business and corporate stakeholders to develop, implement and support sophisticated trading systems and middle, back office systems through the use of state of the art technology.
Role description:
Nomura in Asia is looking for a Business Manager in the Wholesale CIO organization. The Business Manager will report to the Head of Wholesale Technology and Operations Business Management and will support our senior executive Technology and Operations regional leaders for the Wholesale business. The role will require strong partnership with other Business Managers, Global Markets Business COO’s and other corporate function leaders. List Bullet
- Drive strategic planning in partnership with head of department and their leadership team, developing objectives and defining performance metrics to monitor progress against plan
- Build relationships with regional leadership within Operations and Technology, as well as with the Corporate Functional Leaders and support teams
- Understand and represent financials to the region in partnership with Finance, including reviewing budgets/forecasts/monthly actuals, supporting monthly processes and controls (approvals, accruals, recharges, etc.), understanding impacts of capitalization and coordinating allocations to the business
- Develop workforce plan inclusive of appropriate resource mix and location strategy, tracking headcount and recruiment pipeline in line with established targets and global business line strategies
- Monitor vendor processes and approvals in partnership with Sourcing, ensuring compliance with vendor risk management framework and preferred supplier and product strategies
- Coordinate agendas, content and papers for management meetings and other executive presentations
- Build colleague engagement and communication strategy, including town halls, response to employee survey, recognition schemes, learning & development planning and internal/external brand development & promotion
- Participate in people processes in partnership with HR including annual objectives setting, organizational design, succession planning, recruitment and early careers
- Support portfolio management requirements to create accurate resource forecasts and project spend reporting
- Identify opportunities to standardize, optimize and automate processes and reporting, creating efficient and cost effective business management services
- Leverage global processes ensuring that regional requirements are include standard reports and commentary
- Develop and align regional business management operating model with global practices
- Manage and develop team, making hiring decisions to ensure the right resources are in the right location to deliver against objectives
- Actively coach team members against development plans
- Continuously prioritize workload and meeting schedule against deliverables, considering time zones
Skills, experience, qualifications, and knowledge required:
Desired Credentials
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, or Organizational Behavior
- 10 years in a COO/CAO/Business Management/Chief of Staff role in Financial Services
- Experience with financial management including the review of budgets, forecasts and monthly actuals
