Partnerships:
Responsible for creating new accounts and new partnerships for the company and growing existing ones via networking, business development and sales. Representing and being an ambassador for the company in the field and via direct outreach:
(1) Identifying and developing new business opportunities:
- Traveling to client offices, and attending networking events, social occasions, business conferences, exhibitions and anywhere else business opportunities are extant
- Enhancing the Company’s efforts in hunting style business development in addition to farming cold calls, emails and face-to-face meetings per month
- Fostering in-person connections with clients and potential clients to open new business opportunities; organising face to-face-meetings
- Curating a list of relevant events for the Company to attend, Company leadership to potentially speak at, and participating in 2 to 3 events per quarter
- Attending key events to represent the Motion brand, creating connections with new potential clients, explaining the company’s values and business pillars and pitching the value of Motion with clarity and magnetism
(2) Building relationships with existing and potential clients:
- Nurturing key client relationships to unlock new opportunities for the Company
- Identifying, conceptualising and project managing events organised at the House of Motion which can lead to additional business opportunities such as fireside chats and networking sessions, for invite-only events
- At least one in-house event per quarter
- Curating, organising and leading prospecting efforts across email, social media, phone calls and meetings
- Leveraging the company’s membership in professional associations and organisations for networking opportunities
(3) Strategising and formulating the business development and sales processes to improve and refine how Motion performs in identifying opportunities and bringing them through the sales funnel
- Lead Prospecting reporting across the Revenue Tracker and Streamtime
- Transforming the business development processes and posture of the Company from a word of mouth, farming based organisation to have well established and efficient sales outreach and new business capture mechanisms and systems
- Leveraging a deep understanding of the Company’s business pillars to position and recommend the best matched services and project types to prospective clients
- Being a key part of events produced by Motion to foster connections with high value guests, as client liaison for account servicing and business development farming purposes
- Working with, onboarding and managing Business Development Manager(s), Sales Executive(s) and other new hires that may be team designed into the Prospecting pillar
Positioning:
Leading the company’s marketing efforts via brand amplification, online visibility and direct outreach. Curating and embodying the voice and tone of Motion in all external facing content and communications
(1) Developing and implementing the Company’s marketing strategy
- Analysing and gaining insights from key marketing performance metrics and data to provide actionable plans to implement improved marketing and visibility, resulting in a monthly report to the leadership team
- Leading, project managing and strategising the brand’s marketing efforts across owned media such as social media, EDMs, in-house events, brochures and other marketing collaterals. This may include but is not limited to copy and narrative reflective of Motion’s brand, imagery curation in line with the brand aesthetic in co-ordination with the designers and Art Director, individual long form and short videos as well as reels
- Via one Instagram post per week, one LinkedIn post per week, one Medium blog post per month, one Instagram reel per two weeks
- Planning and project managing the content calendars for social media including, but not limited to, LinkedIn, Instagram, and any other social media channels the company may decide to pursue marketing on in future
(2) Enhancing brand visibility for Motion
- Conceptualising, overseeing, copywriting and amplifying Leadership on LinkedIn for the brand with a target of 1-2 CEO voice posts per month
- Research, engagement, communication with and submission of case studies to awards companies to enhance Motion’s brand visibility via potential award winning work
- Aiming for at least one bronze award per year, depending on number of qualifying projects and whether clients are amenable
(3) Leading enhancement of the quality and sales potential of the brand’s partnership assets
- Overhauling and revitalising Motion’s portfolio of case studies in line with the brand’s business priorities and target clientele, including overall strategy, copy rewriting, imagery curation in co-ordination with project managers, designers and the Art Director, curation of portfolio decks under Motion’s business pillars and client types and individual portfolio deck creation on request by the company leadership
- Leading and project managing the creation of new case studies for the company’s completed projects
(4) Ownership of and updates for the company website and other online platforms including, but not limited to, staff bios, company business copy, approved case studies, contact form, press and media, editorial features the company has had, careers page, and contact incentives such as downloadables
- Manage Google Analytics to inform website and SEO usage as well as content on our websites, to be included in the monthly leadership report
- Co-ordinate with website hosting companies for the management and update of the Motion website
- Establishing and running the Motion blog; writing articles of interest to Motion’s audience on topics including but not limited to business, the senses and the company’s projects on a monthly basis
- Topics across three key pillars; sensorial experiences, the experience of Motion products and behind the scenes, business thought leadership
(5) Developing the company’s physical space (Ann Siang Road office “House of Motion”) for branding and sales benefits to the company in partnership with relevant stakeholder (i.e. CEO and Designer)
- Conceptualise, project manage and lead the positioning of the company’s physical space for marketing, networking, business development, thought leadership and brand amplification benefits to Motion, through events, online visibility and posts about the office space
- Identifying, inviting, working with and managing speakers for events at the House of Motion
- Moderating panels and fireside chats organised at the House of Motion
- Co-ordinating with external partners to formalise sensorial offerings for Motion such as scents, giveaways and other promotional materials
(6) Co-ordinating with PR managers and firms to plan the company’s earned media strategy
- Pitching the company for inclusion in earned media such as but not limited to magazines, websites and other platforms focused on design, lifestyle, art, creative, events, business, finance and entrepreneurship
(7) Working with, onboarding and managing Communications Associate(s), Social Media Executive(s) and other new hires that may be team designed into the Positioning pillar
With the right skillsets, you:
- Have 7-8 years of proven experience in business development and managing sales teams
- Are willing and able to communicate proactively and confidently by phone, over Teams and in person
- Have outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Have a broad based knowledge of different industries and markets that may represent potential business opportunities for the company
- Are organised and proficient in Excel and SaaS for reporting
- Enjoy and are good at building personal connections
- Understand Motion’s brand, tone, clients and project dynamics
