Work you will do

This role sits within the Technology Strategy and Transformation (TS&T) team of Deloitte Southeast Asia, which encompasses IT Strategy and Transformation. As a leader of this group, you will drive the growth of our TS&T business in the region and be responsible for the creation, sale and delivery of TS&T solutions: IT Strategy, Application & Systems Development, IT Business Transformation, etc.

· You will review outputs from the Analysts and will provide further in-depth, root-cause analyses to formulate perspectives, as well as draw additional insights on potential areas for enhancement and improvement.

• You will undertake assessments across different elements of IT functions, document and translate business requirements into specifications, and support the formulation of appropriate technology-enabled solutions by defining appropriate technology strategy, architecture vision and implementation roadmap.
• You will support the project teams in gathering business requirements and definition of problem statements by engaging clients to understand their business needs and challenges.
• You will assist project teams in the set up and execution of Technology Strategy & Architecture projects, in accordance to the firm’s service delivery standards and quality requirements.
• You will contribute to the development of our practice by providing guidance to junior team members and in assisting senior team members on pursuits as well as adherence with the firm’s processes for set up and execution of engagements.
• You will be actively involved in deal pursuits, and will assist senior team members in the preparation, development and delivery of strong proposals, presentations and publications
• You will engage with Project Management Office (PMO) team to set up & maintain PMO governance frameworks, templates, tools and processes.
• You will assist in monitoring health and performance of the project portfolios through regular reporting and dashboards.
• You will coordinate with Project Managements to ensure adherence to frameworks and processes.

What we are looking for

If you are someone with:

• Native or advanced business level of Japanese-speaking skills
• A good honors Degree, preferably at postgraduate level, in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• A minimum of 2+ years of Consulting experience working in IT Implementation.
• Demonstrated experience in Project Management Office (PMO), Project Portfolio Management (PPM) Implementation/Operationalization, Project Quality Assurance, Project Lifecycle (initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control) and overall SDLC (requirement gathering, design, test, deploy/release, data migration).
• Practical experience in project management methodologies (Agile, DevOps), standards, and frameworks. Certifications in project management (PSM, PMP) will be an advantage.
• Familiarity with Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Tool implementation.
• Understanding of current IT trends (cloud computing, big data, social media, RPA, IoT, blockchain, etc.).
• Strong analytical skills, excellent oral and written communication skills in English, be self-motivated, and be able to work in stressful situations with changing priorities.

General Job Requirements:

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Associate Director, Finance APAC GFS - Source to Settle (STS) & Order to Cash (OTC) Lead of APAC Global Financial Solutions (GFS), this position will be responsible for leading the STS & OTC team in the management and delivery of STS and OTC services mainly focusing on Japan market.

The customers for the STS process will be represented by Finance Business Partners of Japan market in Gilead and will also include the Finance and business users of the process along with Gilead suppliers.

The customers for the OTC process will be represented by the finance of Japan market, commercial finance and commercial operations.

STS processes include but not limited to handling of supplier’s onboarding requests, PO administration, supplier invoice processing, employees’ expense claims, Corporate Card handling, payment processing, month-end processes for APAC markets

OTC processes include but not limited to Customer and Credit Maintenance, Cash Application, Debt Collection, Credit review, Order Management, month-end processes for APAC markets

Position Specific Job Requirements:

• Manage, train, and provide guidance and direction to the team and AP/AR Users; and the Customer Services and Finance teams for Japan market
• Manage the overall process effectively, reporting KPI’s and enhancing and streamlining the effectiveness of the process;
• Manage and liaise with our various service providers to ensure quality and timeliness of the services
• Recommend changes in processes and/or policies that identify and utilize technologies that will provide efficiencies;
• Ensure that all standards in the service partnership agreement are consistently met and a high level in key performance indicators is achieved
• Responsible for maintaining up-to-date documentation and adherence to all internal controls as required for the Sarbanes - Oxley Act;
• Lead and manage the Japan STS/OTC team to drive efficiencies and support a scalable model in the future

• Ensure all deadlines are met during the close cycle;

Knowledge, experience, competencies:

• 7 years+ hands-on experience in Japan market Financial Operations (experience financial shared services is an advantage)
• Fluency in both written and spoken Japanese and English is a MUST
• Accounting/ Finance / Business degree
• ACA/ACCA/CPA qualification is preferred - Big 4 or similar practice accounting background a distinct advantage
• People management experience is a must
• Must have a good understanding of accounting principles and practices
• Experience in interacting with external and internal auditors along with detailed knowledge and experience of SOX Compliance

If you are someone with:

• Tertiary qualification in a chemicals or petroleum engineering disciple with a well ranked institution and/or currently enrolled in a MBA program.
• Minimum 10 years of working experience with a leading consulting firm focusing in the Energy industry.
• Prior experience with a trading or consulting organisation focused on commodity / energy trading, preferably working within deal capture / front office environment
