My client is looking for qualified candidates with specialised and deep technical skills acquired through extensive industry experience. Pending experience, the candidate can apply for an Assistant/Manager, Senior or a Lead Professional Officer role.

The successful candidates will be part of their pool of academic staff under the Professional Officers (PO) scheme. They form the talent pool which brings a much-needed industry perspective to student learning. They facilitate applied learning and applied research in the institution, complementing the academic expertise of the faculty to bring industry practices and applications into the curriculum.

Professional Officers leverage on their industry experiences to create authentic learning environments, where discovery and innovation take place. They act as coaches and mentors to students during practical learning activities such as laboratory sessions, Capstone Projects and the work study programme. Professional Officers could also lead or work with faculty on industry innovation projects to provide solutions to the industry.

In addition to their role in applied learning and applied research, Professional Officers manage the centralised laboratory facilities and resources in the institution. With Technical Officers, laboratory safety professionals, and administrators in department, they jointly develop central policies and processes for the safe and seamless operation of laboratories in the institution.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and teach labs & practice modules.
• Mentor students in Capstone Projects and the Integrated Work Study Programme (IWSP).
• Lead or co-lead innovation projects with industry.
• Manage labs and equipment to support academic programmes and applied research.
• Ensure safety in labs.

Job Requirements

• A good degree with a major in Electronics Engineering or a related field. Masters, PhD and/or relevant professional certifications would be advantageous.
• Deep technical specialist with 10 or more years of working experience in development / R&D or related areas in electronics (Digital / Analog / Consumer / Embedded Systems) would be preferred.
• Experience in following areas is highly desirable.

1. Hands-on experience with both analogues and digital electronics
2. Hands-on experience in developing, implementing applications, principles and programming in areas of embedded systems, IoT/IIoT, control systems, etc.
3. Design of circuit schematics for layouts and development with both active and passive components, incl. knowledge of PCB routing, fabrication and prevalent IPC standards.
4. Hands-on competency in testing and designing electronic circuits and integrating circuits and their systems.
5. Microcontroller programming (C/C++, Python, LabView) and firmware development.
6. Working experience with IoT, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, etc.
7. Working experience with various development boards systems like Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Intel development boards, etc.

• Extensive hands-on experience and knowledge of industry practices and engineering principles to bring industry perspective to the University.
• Keen interest in innovation projects, with demonstrated ability in developing solutions to technical problems.

Requirements:

• Registered as a Resident Technical Officer with BCA/IES/ACES.
• At least 6 yrs experience in A&A works (healthcare institutions.)
• Able to work after working hours if required by the client and can take time off accordingly.

Responsibilities:

• RTO shall supervise the construction related works and ensure that the works are carried out in accordance with the project specifications.
• RTO shall possess adequate knowledge and experience to carry out supervision and inspection of the construction works including any off-site manufacturing as instructed by client
• RTO shall review all authority drawings for any discrepancies and missing details and to highlight findings to client.
• RTO shall ensure that contractors/ sub-contractors carry out their works in compliance with Codes of Practices, regulations and requirements of building authorities and government agencies.
• RTO shall conduct progressive inspections to ensure that works are carried out complies with quality standards and requirements.
• RTO shall monitor progress of the works on site and report delays to client immediately.

3. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to understand their needs and preferences.
4. Follow up with potential customers to confirm appointments
4. Sharing basic product information and services, answer basic inquiries, and gather contact information.
5. Maintain accurate call records and update customer databases.
6. Keep accurate records of interactions in the CRM system.
7. Collaborate with the sales team to develop effective sales strategies and improve processes.
8. Adhere to all relevant laws and regulations governing telemarketing activities.
