A Finance and Accounts Executive plays a crucial role in managing a company’s financial health and ensuring accurate financial reporting. Here are some key responsibilities and duties typically associated with this role:
Job Description and Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting and Analysis: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide insights for decision-making. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation and planning of project and business unit budgets. Monitor and report on budget variances. Develop financial forecasts to support strategic planning.
3. Accounting Operations: Oversee daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and receivable. Reconcile bank statements and manage cash flow. Maintain accurate financial records and ensure they are up-to-date.
4. Audit and Compliance: Participate in internal and external financial audits. Ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures. Implement and review financial controls to mitigate risks.
5. Financial Strategy and Planning: Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management. Develop and implement financial policies to improve operational efficiency. Supports the GM in strategic financial planning and decision-making.
6. Team Management: Supervise and train finance assistants. Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations, costing and tracking efficiency. Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
Skills and Qualifications
•Educational Background: A degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 4 years in a finance or accounting role and be well versed in handling multiple accounts including construction work in progress accounts.
•Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and advanced MS Excel skills.
•Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and numerical abilities.
•Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Ethics: High ethical standards and ability to manage confidential information.
•Ability to work on site in Tuas region of Singapore
