The scopes cover exploring the selected materials for designing the substrate surface for CO2 condensation, and surface treatment for the liquid wetting for the phase change process and heat exchanging process for the thermal management and decarbonization applications. The project covers material development, interfacial phenomena between gas and liquid, phase change of CO2, heat transfer effect, etc.

Key Responsibilities:

The Research Fellow will conduct the research on development of materials and heat exchanging processes for energy harvesting systems and CO2 collection on the substrate with the different wettability degrees. The roles of this position include:

• Develop and maintain the system for CO2 condensation under the large pressure range.
• Prepare the substrates for CO2 condensation and treating the surfaces with the different degrees with liquid CO2.
• Upgrade the experimental visualization system to monitor the fluid dynamics and thermal performance.
• Develop the thermofluid test rig from the cryogenic temperature to 200°C.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. To drive the Company’s truck for the collection and transportation of waste.
2. To assist in the collection of waste from clients’ premises.
3. To ensure that the containers/bins are properly secured/lashed to the truck, before driving off.
4. To assist in the unloading, segregation, and storage of the waste.
5. To comply with all Traffic rules, and to practice safe driving habits while driving the Company’s trucks.

The Climate Transformation Programme – Cross Cutting Theme 1: Sustainable Societies is seeking to hire a Research Fellow at the School of Art, Design and Media for a one-year duration. The Research Fellow will work in an interdisciplinary and collaborative research environment, aiming to cultivate a critical multiplicity of voices, perspectives, knowledges, and skills from both within and outside academic realms in the formation of ‘Sustainable Societies’ that engage with questions of climate change.

Under the supervision of Professor Ute Meta Bauer, the successful candidate will be embedded within the research framework of Climates.Habitats.Environments., developed by Bauer, which bridges arts and cultural production, local and indigenous knowledge, and science to develop transdisciplinary solutions addressing and mitigating the climate crisis.
