Job Summary:
The Mechanical Draftsman is responsible for creating accurate and detailed technical drawings for mechanical equipment and components.
This includes developing 2D and 3D models to support engineering and production processes.
The role requires close collaboration with engineers and project teams to ensure that designs meet specifications and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare detailed mechanical drawings, schematics, and 3D models using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor).
Work closely with engineers to understand design requirements and provide input on manufacturability and feasibility.
Update and modify existing designs as necessary, incorporating revisions and feedback from project leaders.
Maintain comprehensive records of drawings and design documentation to ensure version control.
Ensure that all designs adhere to applicable standards, regulations, and company guidelines.
Collaborate with production teams to resolve any issues related to drawings during the manufacturing process.
Assist with the development of technical documentation such as user manuals and assembly instructions.
Participate in project meetings to discuss progress, address design challenges, and suggest improvements.
Conduct field measurements and collect data to inform accurate design and drafting. Support engineers in the preparation of technical reports and analysis when needed.
Qualifications:
Diploma or Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor).
Good understanding of mechanical systems, components, and manufacturing processes. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in technical drawings.
Basic knowledge of engineering principles and materials used in mechanical systems. Good communication and team collaboration skills.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical diagrams and blueprints.
