The Travel News Intern supports CNBC’s Travel Editor to manage the CNBC Travel webpage. This role is ideal for university undergraduates aspiring to explore a career in travel news journalism. You should have keen interests related to news about the aviation and hotels industries, pandemic travel recovery, travel trends and geopolitical conflict that affect the travel industry. There will be opportunities to learn about the fundamentals of journalism in digital and television mediums.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Researching stories for CNBC’s Travel Editor, with the goal to eventually report and write your own news stories under the guidance of the Travel Editor
• Help in locating and interacting (including setting up interviews) with sources to support stories in progress

The Distribution Intern plays a pivotal role in supporting the distribution deals workflow, ensuring seamless operations and robust customer support. You will assist in maintaining and enhancing CNBC’s clip licensing revenue stream, collaborating closely with the Business-to-Business (B2B) & Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Manager, EMEA, and the broader CNBC International Commercial team to drive CNBC’s APAC B2B & DTC business.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Provide input on customer briefs, presentations, and sales literature
• Support CNBC’s B2B & DTC revenue in identifying and executing opportunities to grow CNBC’s distribution to key B2B clients, primarily financial institutions, hotels and telcos
• Research prospective partners and industry news impacting partners
• Updating presentation decks with case studies and updates 
• Provide administrative support to both EMEA & APAC teams, such as maintaining sales records, recording subscriber reports, reporting music royalties, etc

The News Editorial Intern provides support to the show production teams, assisting with cutting videos, building graphics, learning to produce basic show segments and/or guest booking. This role is ideal for university undergraduates aspiring to explore a career in TV news production and journalism. You have keen interests and passion in business, economics, and financial markets. There will also be opportunities to learn about business and markets, as well as the fundamentals of journalism.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Work with video editors to cut videos to match news scripts
• Write sample scripts for TV news
• Transcribe live interviews
• Build graphics using CNBC’s in-house applications and liaise with the Graphics team for guidance
• Prepare elements such as video clips, lower-thirds, soundbites etc for show segments
• Efficiently manage the teleprompter for on-air talents during live programming
• Being involved in creation of show segments – share, discuss and/or pitch ideas

The News Desk Intern supports the News Desk to ensure CNBC offers world-class content on global business and finance through guest interviews. You will learn how to ask intelligent, tough and balanced questions to high profile key stakeholders in the global business and finance industry. This role is ideal for university undergraduates aspiring to explore a career in TV news production and journalism. You enjoy interacting with people, and have keen interests and passion in business, economics, and financial markets and international relations. There will also be opportunities to learn about business and markets, as well as the fundamentals of journalism.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Meet and greet C-suite guests and key industry stakeholders at CNBC Studio located at SGX Centre
• Set guests up and interact with them prior to their interview segments on the TV shows
• Create daily highlights and send them to key clients and affiliates
• Learn how major global news networks react to breaking news and cover them with guests professionally
• Learn how to pitch to news makers and market movers to come on to CNBC TV shows for interviews

Assist the News Desk to grow and build relationships with guests, companies, PR agencies and financial institutions in APAC

The Finance Intern will support the CNBC Asia Pacific Finance team.

This role is ideal for university undergraduates aspiring to gain hands-on experience in accounting and finance, with responsibilities across both the Financial Planning & Analysis and Controllership functions. There will be opportunities to collaborate and engage with teams across different business functions and countries while working on finance deliverables.

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Support on month end close process including:
  • Take ownership of updating the review file each month
  • Update schedule of monthly FX rates
  • Drive review of key cost movements, identifying key variances, and write meaningful business commentary
  • Post month end review and consolidation of OPEX costs
• Lead project to streamline and reduce turnaround time on reporting for Travel and Entertainment costs.
• Produce monthly T&E reporting packs for key business partners (News, Tech Ops, Leadership)
• Provide analytical support for commercial proposals and reviews.
• Support reviews with billing, collection & vendor teams, with a focus on tracking key metrics and following up on identified issues.
• Support ad hoc projects as assigned.
