The Role
The Shipping Business Analyst will report into the regional Technology lead, and will collaborate closely with a busy and dynamic Maritime trading desk . The primary focus will be to provide technical support and expertise for the VESON IMOS software. We believe in hiring diverse candidates with a passion for working in a flexible and closely knit company. We are a small team with a wide range of expertise and will provide immersive on-the-job training in both software and the business.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Collaborate with the business to support daily operations relating to long-term time charters and voyage charter operations.
- Address and resolve invoicing or cash discrepancy issues for the operations team, ensuring accuracy and a timely solution
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical assistance and ensuring the system aligns with business processes and controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement
- Assist with the configuration and customization to meet specific business requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-related issues, liaising with both internal stakeholders and external support teams when necessary.
- Provide training and guidance to end users.
- Stay updated on the latest developments in VESON IMOS and maritime shipping technology to ensure the organization leverages cutting-edge solutions.
Skills and Experience Required:
- Maritime operations related experience
- BSc Degree, relevant related degree or advanced diploma in an Economics, Finance, IT, Maritime, Business or Engineering related subject
- Solid understanding of database management and reporting tools
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented mindset.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams, including trading desks and technical teams.
- An understanding of maritime regulations and compliance would be an advantage.
