We are seeking to recruit a proactive and motivated research assistant to join the Bezos Centre for Sustainable Protein at the National University of Singapore (NUS) launched on 5 September 2024, the first of its kind in Asia to advance research in alternative proteins. Led by experts from NUS and research institutes in Singapore, the Centre aims to drive global food security and accelerate regional innovation. The focus will be on microalgae research and biomass fermentation, to produce high-quality, affordable, and sustainable microbial proteins from microalgae and biomass fermentation that can be further developed into cultured meat and plant-based protein hybrids. Microbial proteins will be cultivated through fermentation and processed using emerging bio-physical techniques for effective biotransformation, to improve digestibility, flavour, and nutritional profile. As a research assistant, you will assist with conducting and monitoring microalgal cultivation bioprocesses via analytical techniques to achieve maximal product titres, yields, and rates. • Review project specifications, technical proposal/design documentations from the ICA subcontractor/supplier and liaise with project consultant / client for the approval of technical documentations/drawings.
• Support ICA related procurement work, develop cost estimates for ICA products and ICA works, and prepare the schedule for ICA works.
• Oversee project coordination, ensuring project is on schedule and is running smoothly, including handling technical matters at site, managing ICA subcontractor/supplier and working on site with clients and other stakeholders.
• Supervise installation and testing and commissioning of ICA works.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience in process plant electrical EPC work with Degree in Electrical , Electronic or Instrumentation Engineering or related Engineering Discipline. For Diploma holder, minimum 6 years of experience is required. For senior position, candidate must have at least 8 years of experience.
• Familiar with relevant code of practice and standards in Singapore
• Experience with Revit/AutoCAD Plant 3D/Bentley is preferred.
