Senior Youth Worker
New Life Community Services is a not-for-profit social service agency that seeks to bring hope and purpose to children, youths and seniors so that they go on to create positive impact in their community and society.
New Life Youth caters to people between 11 - 21 years of age. Our mission is to mentor youths by creating a positive impact on their lives, developing their resilience through nurturing mentorships and empowering them to initiate change within their communities. We are looking for individuals who are dedicated and passionate in working with youths.
Job Responsibilities
· Plan, organize, and lead programs and activities that promote the development of youths.
· Provide supervision to team of youth workers
· Build and maintain positive relationships with youth, acting as a mentor and role model.
· Provide individual support and guidance to young people, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their goals.
· Facilitate group discussions and workshops on various topics, including health, education, and social skills.
· Work collaboratively with other professionals, including teachers, social workers, and community leaders, to support the needs of young people.
· Maintain accurate records of interactions and progress, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with organizational policies.
· Engage with the community to understand and address the needs and interests of local youth.
· Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all participants
· Stay informed about current issues and trends affecting young people.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or Youth Work.
· 5 to 8 years of relevant experience working with youths.
· Proficient in English and Mother Tongue
· Previous experience working with young people in a similar role.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to engage and motivate young people from diverse backgrounds.
· Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by young people today.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
