Job Purpose

The Assistant Station Manager supports the day-to-day operations of the train station, which includes preparing the station for rail service, conducting security patrols at station premises and on train platforms, providing customer service, and performing duties in the Passenger Service Centre. He/She monitors commuter flow and manages crowds during peak hours and/or during service degradation. He/She carries out first-line recovery of station equipment and systems, performs the duty of an emergency train operator when required, and supports the implementation of procedures for rail incidents and/or emergencies. He/She also performs person-in-charge duties, manages access to the station, and assists in track access and procession by maintenance teams and/or service providers.

Responsibilities

Customer Service

• Monitors and performs first level of maintenance for AFC equipment such as fare gates and ticketing machines
• Assists passengers with fare-related and directional enquiries, attends to unwell passengers and render first aid when necessary
• Monitors CCTV and makes necessary Public Announcements
• Acknowledge and responds to alarm status e.g. MFT, ISCS, fire alarm, PEC, ESP activation, etc.

Platform and Train Operations Duties

• Ensures passenger safety when commuters travel on escalators and boarding/alighting from train
• Attends to incidents and alarms at the platforms and trains, and to carry out hand signalman duties when required
• Assists in detrainment of passengers when required
• Provides travel directions for passengers travelling within the train system
• Operates or manned the train so as to provide quick response towards train faults and alarms, while ensuring that any delays are kept to the minimal

Concourse Duties

• Carries out checks on illegally parked or abandoned bicycles or belongings
• Conducts inspection and takes appropriate actions on passengers who use concession tickets illegally, travel without valid tickets, and those who flouts regulations, e.g. drinking, eating, and smoking in station premise

Administrative Duties

• To liaise with cleaning personnel for station/toilet cleaning
• Reports any equipment fault to the Station Manager and files the fault reporting through the Maintenance Management System (MMS)

Opening and Closing of Station

• Opens and closes the station according to the timetable. Switches the station equipment on / off before / after traffic hours
• Checks the station area for any passengers before closing of station
• Facilitate track access during non-revenue hours, and checks for oil spills on the station platform tracks after the last Engineering Train had passed the station

Handles all train/station incidents and emergencies

• Manages and reports all incidents and emergency situations relating to:
• Staff and passenger (e.g. accident, assault, molest, etc.)
• Trains (e.g. alarms, faults and manning of trains)
• Passenger Service Centre (take local control of MFT functions due to failure of signalling equipment, responding to alarms/defects)
• Stations (e.g. crowd control, fire, bomb hoax, flooding, etc.)
• Checks and ensures that appropriate signs are put up during any rail incidents or delays to keep passengers updated of progress
• Assist in service recovery during train service disruption

Your Role

The Assistant Project Accountant is responsible for providing a solid foundation of analysis for projects and business practices by managing contracts, ensuring fiscal health of assigned projects, and mentoring and supporting the project management for Singapore and other offices as required within the region.

What You Will Do

• Work closely with Project/Design Managers, establishing successful business relationships and ensuring accurate and consistent billing and financial reporting at the project and studio levels
• Maintain organized project contract files
• Understand contract terms as it relates to fee management
• Assist Project/Design Managers in performing project start-up due diligence and following Firm best practices throughout the project life cycle
• Interact with clients and consultants in a professional, courteous manner
• Review project work plans, budgets, and staffing plans for appropriateness to fee
• Provide accurate invoices to clients per contract terms
• Coordinate consultant invoices and payments per contract terms
• Review project labor and expense charges with Project/Design Managers for accuracy and appropriateness
• Monitor studio accounts receivable and assist Project/Design Managers with collection efforts
• Monitor, analyze, and report on variety of metrics at the studio and office level to ensure healthy business practices;
• Provide training to Project/Design Managers regarding financial maintenance of projects
• Drive and implement project financial management best practices and other initiatives as required in Singapore and in the region.

Job Description

• Carry out full time supervision for construction of structural works in accordance to BCA approved structural drawings in compliance to Building and Control Act and regulations
• Check that requirements of specifications in regards to materials and workmanship are complied with the project specifications by the Builders. Ensure high quality control for all civil and structural as well as architectural works to be carried . This includes sample tests for materials and workmanship etc
• Watch for faulty workmanship and material incorporated in the works and to issue instructions for rectifications
• Check line and level and layout of structure during erection and that intentions of contract drawings are adhered to
• Check structural slab beam and column sizes and reinforcements placed and that intent of design details are followed
• Keep a record of all measurements and tests and to bring plans into conformity with the work actually executed
• Issue such further instructions and clarifications of details as and when required; and to inform Architect / Engineers for issuance of Architect’s Instruction or Architects' clarification
• Work under the direction of RE, PE and Architect for site organisation, allocation of duties and tasks and coordinate with Architect for M&E services and structural design that affects architectural and ID works.
• Participate in Client/Consultant's site meeting and technical meeting if required by RE
• Vet and signoff inspection forms and quality related issues including all dry-lays, trade demonstrations, method of statements, mock-ups, defects inspection and rectification follow-up to sign-off, M&E testing and commissioning, handover to client.
• Check architectural and ID works and intent of design details are followed. To notify Architect of any design intent conflicts and quality variations, illegal works.

• Registered with IES-ACES Joint accreditation Committee ( JAC ) as Resident Technical Officer with a minimum diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification
