Job Description
The Deputy Chief Of Staff / Operations Officer is a highly collaborative role, reporting to the COO APAC. The primary focus of the role is designed to evaluate business opportunities through analysis inclusive of competitive analysis, financial analysis, market analysis, performance analysis, technology platforms, and strategic fit, bringing together and executing a defined regional strategy with key milestones.
As a strategy & commercial leader, you drive strategic planning processes and the business’s long-term strategic development plans as the region continues through the client centricity transformation journey.
As a true transformation business leader, you facilitate cross-functional team collaborations to support executive leadership and stakeholders within the business in developing business strategies, inclusive of long-term goals and objectives, key risk management, and driving business and project initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Advisory
•Drives the strategic planning process and acts as a trusted advisor to the business’s executive leadership and relevant stakeholders during strategy formulation, development and execution.
•Develops the business’s multi-year strategies and goals, establishes measurement criteria to monitor the performance of established strategies consistently, identify deficiencies, and provides actionable solution (s).
•With a strategic mindset, you support the teams to leverage the right methods to deliver our client engagements in the most effective manner.
Operational Management
•Support efficient management of the CEO's office and communication flow to critical stakeholders.
•Act as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information dissemination.
•Anticipate needs and proactively address challenges to optimise the APAC CEO time investment and productivity.
Risk Management and Compliance
•Monitor and mitigate operational risks, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company policies.
•Partner with relevant parties to ensure governance framework enhances transparency and accountability.
People Leadership & Performance Measurement
•Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the success of operational and strategic initiatives.
•Regularly report on progress to the CEO/COO and executive team, identifying areas for improvement and optimisation.
•Collaborate to define the future roadmap for R&D and M&A, to enhance our practices strategically through incubation, and at pace through M&A.
Cross-functional Collaboration
•Foster effective communication and collaboration between the CEO/COO and other regions / functions and practice areas within dentsu.
•Coordinate with regional teams to ensure alignment with corporate strategies and facilitate the execution of regional business plans.
•Facilitate a strong culture and business system that enables multi-practice/brand, multi-market collaboration to deliver the best business outcomes and solutions for clients and society.
•Collaborate with the Chief Client Officer and ICLs in the development and review of Client Business Plans
•Knowledge sharing, celebration and sharing of best practice across market clusters to continuously enhance integration solutioning.
Business Management
•Assess the talent mix commensurate with the business utilisation to create and stipulate higher revenue growth balanced by the strategic planning baseline.

•Proven experience in a similar role with a focus on operations and strategy.
•Strong project management skills and the ability to lead cross-functional teams.
•Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
•Familiarity with APAC business practices and cultural nuances.
•Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
Experiences Required
•Experience in building a digital marketing, media investment or e-commerce practices.
•Experience in transformation and marketing optimisation to drive efficient and scaled teams.
•Experience coordinating strategic planning and internal stakeholder management at a global and regional level.
•Leadership experience – motivate & inspire internal and external stakeholders
•Senior experience in supporting the strategy management of an agency or consulting.
•Broad internal transformation experience - able to understand industry trends, client’s current expectations and future direction within agency or consultancy.
•Knowledge and experiencing in applying change management principles, methodologies, and tools with demonstrated ability to effectively apply, adapt, and scale to suit the required context.
•Proven ability to successfully perform in high-pressure environments, managing competing priorities, deadlines, managing scope and commercial constraints.
Qualifications
•Proven experience in combining strategic financial management into business planning with the hands-on aspects of finance and operations to contribute more broadly to the efficient and effective performance of the business.
•Proven track record in using a range of methodologies to drive business performance success over sustainable periods of time.
•Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
•Prior experience in the marketing agency, consultancy sector, coupled with a passion for innovation and improvement.
