Job Scope:

Job Summary

As a Systems Specialist, you will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and support of backup software, physical and virtual servers, and related infrastructure. You will ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of the systems under your care through diligent patching, configuration, and collaboration with vendors. Additionally, you will contribute to technical exercises and troubleshooting to maintain robust and secure IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Systems Administration and MaintenanceManage physical and virtual servers running SuSE Linux and Windows Server operating systems.
   Administer backup software such as Networker, Avamar, Acronis, and Arcserve.
   Maintain backup hardware, including Data Domain, ECS, Hitachi CGX, and Tape Libraries.
   
2. System Security and UpdatesPerform security patching and hardening of systems.
   Upgrade backup software and operating systems as required.
   
3. Installation and ConfigurationInstall and configure backup software to meet organizational needs.
   Set up and configure new physical servers.
   
4. Troubleshooting and Vendor ManagementCollaborate with hardware and software vendors to resolve technical issues.
   Analyze and review logs from backup systems and hardware to identify potential issues.

Requirements

1. Technical SkillsProficiency in Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 administration.
