Role and Responsibilities:
Prepare resources, and chemical solutions, assemble apparatus, and deliver equipment to labs as required.
Assist teachers and students with technical advice and resources during lessons.
Inventory management of all science equipment, apparatus, and consumables.
Source and recommend equipment to replace damaged ones.
Be responsible for clearing, storing, and maintaining equipment and fume hood units.
Clear, tidy up, and put away glassware and equipment in labs daily.
Fix broken equipment or seek assistance for repair/replacement.
Support other departments in administrative jobs during school holidays.
Requirements:
Qualification- A degree or diploma in a relevant scientific field (e.g., Chemistry, Biology, Physics) or equivalent practical experience.
Experience:- Previous experience working as a laboratory technician in a high school or educational setting is preferred.
Experience with high school-level science experiments, equipment, and safety protocols.Skills and Abilities:- Strong understanding of laboratory safety practices and procedures.
Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain science laboratory equipment.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Good communication skills to interact with staff, students, and parents as needed.
Proficiency in English (both written and spoken) is required, as this is the language of instruction.
