We are looking for a submarine Technical Program Manager with proven experience, strong sense of ownership and passion for defining and driving large cross-functional programs in the infrastructure and networking space. In this position, you will work closely with various Amazon business units to gather, refine and drive program goals to deliver submarine cable projects. Key job responsibilities
In this position, the candidate will work closely with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders to deliver submarine cable projects across the globe. The candidate should be able to represent and lead for Amazon in deployment and operational meetings, coordinate complex projects spanning a number of geographies and deliver the project to our high standards. They should have a deep knowledge of how to construct fiber based networks that span long haul fiber and colocation including the selection and deployment of optical equipment interfacing with submarine cables. About the team
The Subsea Backbone team is responsible for all aspects of submarine network deployment, operation, upgrades and management within AWS. We own the technology roadmap and standards for submarine cable, optical fiber, installation methods, procurement of the optical equipment, RSPC and associated operational models and security postures. We define the contractual framework for all required elements adding capacity that supports the AWS Backbone Network for our customers. The team works closely with the Regional Business Development teams to deliver submarine capacity to a global standard, enabling economic and scalable consistency for all our customers.

Our Quantitative Analytics team is a global organisation of highly specialised modellers and developers responsible for researching, innovating, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting all quantitative models used for valuation and risk management across all asset classes. Who we're looking for

To be considered for this programme, you must be pursuing a Masters or a PhD in a technical discipline such as Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Quantitative Finance, Statistics, Calculus, Computer Science, or other STEM subjects with anticipated completion between December 2024 - June 2025. This is a future position to start in February or July 2025.

Ideally, you'll have mathematical and programming skills (ideally in Java, C++, or Python) along with a knack for logical thinking and creative problem solving. You'll be a good communicator and team player.

Purpose of the role

Accountabilities

• Application of the latest quantitative techniques to solve business problems, research, development, and implementation of new models and solutions and improve the bank’s computing and data infrastructure.

• Participation in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge. Conduct research to support strategic decision making, prepare presentations and reports to communicate research findings, and collaborate with senior management to implement research findings.

We are seeking a dedicated Data Center Operations Engineer to support our 24x7 data center operations. This role requires working 12-hour rotational shifts to ensure continuous monitoring, maintenance, and incident response for our critical facilities.

Location: Media Hub

• Continuous Support: Provide 24x7 onsite support for data center operations and critical facilities.
• Monitoring: Perform constant monitoring of BMS systems (upstream to downstream), critical facilities equipment, and other systems including fire safety, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical.
• Incident Response: Act as the first responder and Level 1 escalation point for all onsite operational incidents. Conduct hands-on troubleshooting and ad-hoc repairs of mechanical and electrical (M&E) equipment.
• Remote Requests: Fulfill all remote hands requests within the Operational and Service Level Agreements.
• Ticketing System: Manage user requests, incidents, changes, problems, and provisioning through the web portal ticketing system following ITIL standards.
• Safety and Security: Ensure effective implementation of data center safety, security, and customer support policies and procedures. Oversee security operations, including managing resources, enforcing house rules, and ensuring compliance with safety procedures.
• Maintenance Coordination: Plan and support all preventive and reactive maintenance activities with minimal disruption to data center services.

Required experience/skills:

• ITE/Higher Nitec/Diploma in M&E/BMS.
• Experience with BMS systems, M&E equipment, and data center environments.
• Excellent troubleshooting and hands-on repair skills.
• Open to work in 12 hours rotational shift ( 3days work, 2 days off OR 2 days work 2 days off including weekends/public holidays). Off-in-lieu will be provided and adjusted to annual leave.
