1. Freelance Chinese Language Trainer For Adult Learners
(Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language)
Job Descriptions:
1. Teaching Conversational Chinese Course in group class mode @ Bugis, Tanjong Pagar or Chinatown centre (5-8 minutes walk from MRT) or Online Zoom mode.
2. Teaching private 1-1 or Corporate Business Chinese course to professional learners of various industries, such as finance, legal, IT, retail, tourism etc.
3. For group classes, the usual class schedule falls on weekdays’ evening from 7-9 pm (Monday - Thursday) or weekend 10-12 pm / 2-4 pm. Trainers may choose to take up classes at their preferred slot, but those who are available to take up weekdays’ evening classes will be prioritized.
4. Class size ranging from 4-6 people. Each class term is of 12 sessions each over a period of 3 months. Trainers are expected to commit once or twice a week for at least 3-4 months.
5. Hourly training fee ranging from S$25-45/Hour, depends on the mode of class, actual class size, feedback of students and experience of the trainer.
6. Our syllabus is aligned with HSK exam leveling. We provide comprehensive textbook and workbook materials for trainers, together with systematic training on how to approach the lessons. Therefore, trainers just need to prepare the lesson’s content accordingly based on their own teaching style.
7. We emphasize on teaching using English as the language medium, and trainer is expected to be able to explain various grammar points, simple Chinese history and Chinese culture related knowledge in English.
8. Trainers need to be effectively bilingual. He or she is expected to meet the following criteria:
• Familiar with Hanyu Pinyin
• Accurate with their Mandarin pronunciations
• Good command of Mandarin (both spoken and written level)
• Good spoken English as most of our students are complete beginners in Mandarin
• Able to explain complicated business and cultural related concepts to learners
Job Requirements:
• At least 2-3 years of teaching experience with non-native speakers (adults preferred)
• Preferably with at least 2 years of working experience in a professional industry (all fields are accepted)
• Highly fluent in both English and Chinese
• Able to teach Business Chinese and do curriculum customization based on workplace needs etc.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, be able to conduct lively classes
• Native speakers are preferred but Taiwanese/Singaporean/Malaysian-Chinese with good spoken Mandarin & linguistic background are welcomed too
• Able to work after working hours (usually 7-9pm)
• Able to commit at least 3-6 months to ensure continuation of the module.
2. Freelance Chinese Language Trainer For Kids/Teens
Job Descriptions:
1. Be able to conduct engaging and effective Chinese lessons for Kindergarten, Primary students or International School students based on MOE/IGCSE/IB syllabus.
2. Either able to teach the local school’s Chinese curriculum (more for Singaporean Chinese kids) or expatriate kids that are on the Chinese as a foreign language learning path or following IGCSE/IB curriculum in international schools.
3. Teaching in Private 1-1 or group class mode @ Bugis, Tanjong Pagar or Chinatown (5-8 minutes walk from MRT) or Online Zoom mode.
4. Able to customize course content based on student’s proficiency, area of weakness and preferred teaching style (such as integrating more engaging assisting teaching tools and multi-media into class)
5. Passionate about learning and teaching and love working with kids and teens.
6. Able to provide parents with simple class summary and periodic follow up reports of their kids’ learning progress.
7. Hourly training fee ranging from S$25-45/Hour, depending on the mode of class, actual class size, feedback of students and experience of the trainer.
Job Requirements:
• At least 1 year of teaching experience with either local kids or expatriate kids.
• Relevant academic background such as graduates or undergraduates from Chinese studies-related degrees or Teaching Chinese as an International Language is preferred.
• Familiarity with the Singapore MOE Chinese or International schools’ Chinese curriculum and assessment systems.
• Proficient in both spoken and written Mandarin and effectively bilingual.
• Patient, responsible and able to connect well with students.
• Able to come out with innovative ideas and ways to engage students during class.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, be able to conduct lively classes.
• Native speakers are preferred but Taiwanese/Singaporean/Malaysian-Chinese with good spoken Mandarin & linguistic background are welcomed too.
• Good Zoom/Online portal skills is a plus.
• Able to follow flexible part-time schedule, including Weekdays afternoon, evenings or Weekend (catering to students’ availability).
