Group Financial Controller (Start-up - Fintech)
Our client has raised 30 mn in their series A and is a well established start-up in the fintech space. Their group headquarters is Singapore and they have their engineering and product teams based out of India.
To further strengthen their growth story, they are looking to hire a group FC to be based in Singapore.
You will be reporting into the CEO and Co-Founder based in Singapore.
Role Overview: The Financial Controller will play a critical role in overseeing the financial health of the organization. This role will manage core accounting functions, financial planning and analysis, and ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will be a strategic partner to the business, driving financial efficiency and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping and Accounting:
Oversee all bookkeeping activities and ensure accounts are up to date and accurate.
Ensure compliance with local accounting standards and financial reporting regulations.
Entity Management and Transfer Pricing:
Manage entity-level financial requirements and compliance.
Oversee transfer pricing policies and ensure alignment with international regulations.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Lead financial planning and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
Prepare detailed financial reports and variance analyses.
Forecasting, Budgeting, and Planning:
Develop annual budgets and financial forecasts
Monitor budget performance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
Audit Management:
Lead and coordinate audit processes, ensuring timely completion.
Address audit findings and implement corrective measures.
Business Partnership:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business objectives.
Act as a financial advisor to senior leadership.
Cash Reconciliation:
Manage cash flow, oversee bank reconciliations, and ensure liquidity for business operations.
Identify and address discrepancies promptly.
Qualifications:
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA) is a must for this role as the company is MAS regulated
- Minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience, including leadership roles.
- Strong knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in financial systems and reporting tools.
- Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to use Xero/NetSuite
- Past audit and fintech, FS or Payments experience will be preferred
- Team management experience will be preferred
