JOB DESCRIPTION
The role holder is responsible –
1) For guiding and supporting students in identifying their educational and career goals
2) For providing academic advising, career counselling, and resources for skill development to help students transition successfully into higher education, vocational training, or the workforce.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Subject Knowledge and Methodological Competence
· Provides information and guidance to all Senior School students regarding careers and post-school pathways.
· Provides information and/or direction to parents, teachers, and administrators about career and educational services available to eligible students.
· Promotes career related programs with students, staff and parents
· Advises and provides individualized support to students with educational challenges.
· Promotes Social and emotion learning and well-being of students.
· Collaborates with teachers to integrate SEL principles into the curriculum and classroom activities.
· Facilitates internships, apprenticeships, and vocational training opportunities for students.
· Recommends further resources to parents where appropriate
· Designs and conducts workshops to develop students' self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making.
· Maintains consultation records and documentations
· Ensures students gain clarity on interested courses, careers and universities
· Supports and guides students and parents in university and scholarship/financial aid applications.
· Facilitates group activities and discussions that promote empathy, collaboration, and inclusivity among students.
· Promotes peer mentoring programs to build a supportive school community.
· Organizes and hosts university talks and visits.
· Organizes career fairs and information sessions from various universities of international repute.
· Develops and implements a career exploration programme for senior students.
· Guides students toward careers in sustainability-related fields, including environmental science, renewable energy, and sustainable business practices.
· Submits all relevant documentation for students’ university applications. This includes, transcripts, recommendation letters, references and the School Profile.
· Attends international conferences & events on University Guidance as appropriate.
· Collaborates with teachers to identify students needing additional academic support.
· Collaborates with school leadership to include sustainability as a key theme in career fairs and events.
· Collates and prepares reports on data pertaining to all aspects of university admissions
· Develops resources and awareness campaigns on global and local sustainability challenges.
· Sends monthly newsletters to parents and updates them with monthly career activities. Compiles career articles for GIIS blog.
· Introduces vocational and entrepreneurial training that aligns with sustainable practices and green industries.
· Encourages student participation in sustainability projects, such as waste management, tree planting, and energy conservation initiatives.
· Informs students about potential shortcomings in their skill sets and devising strategies to remedy these.
· Possesses updated knowledge about the changing trends in different job industries

· Works closely with the relevant stakeholders and evaluate student performance data to identify students who may require additional support

· Ensures open communication channel and coordination with all teachers.
· Maintains constant communication with parents, teachers and the campus administration to provide personal support as part of the university planning process and to update the student’s progress
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
· Graduate degree in the desired Subject with International Teaching.
· Preferred Masters in the desired Subject with International Teaching.
· Certificate of accreditation preferred.
· Computer literacy, is required to work on software.
· Fluent English Level: reading, writing, speaking; a professional command of the English languages
· Good technology application skills.
