RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is for Office of Admissions and Financial Assistance (OAFA).

Main liaison officer for Games-Based Assessment (GBA)

• The staff will assist to work with the vendor to plan and run the games-based assessment (GBA).
• There will be 4 different launch plans for the GBA to cater to different groups of prospective students.
  • Early admissions students to do GBA in January
  • Scholars students to do GBA in March
  • Discovery Day student to do GBA in April
  • Regular admission students to do GBA in April

Handle admissions matters for Computer Science programme and Software Engineering programme.

• The staff will handle the admission matters for the Computer Science programme and Software Engineering programme. This includes:
  • Reviewing each application individually to verify the authenticity and accuracy of applicants' high school results and other relevant details.
  • Setting up and hosting virtual Zoom sessions for CS and SE faculty members to conduct applicant interviews.
  • Ensuring applicants attempt the tests set by SCIS before their interviews.
  • Contacting applicants to inform them of their scholarships outcomes.
  • Contacting applicants to inform them of their interview dates/times.
  • Handling applicants' requests to change programme / appeal their admissions decision.
  • Updating of applications on SMU's applications portal.
  • Handling applicants' queries.

Post admission surveys

Students and parents of students who accepted or rejected SMU admission offers will be invited to do surveys from June to July. To manage the following:

• To update survey questions
• Send survey links and reminders to students and parents
• Manage student helpers making calls to ensure the survey participation percentages reach 75% or higher.
• Work with Qlik Sense team to ensure survey results are ported timely and accurately to the Qlik Sense Survey Analytics dashboard.

To support key outreach events such as the Schools' Learning Journeys to SMU, school fairs or booths in Junior Colleges and Polytechnics, SMU Poly Day, Scholarship Showcase, SMU IB Day and other signature admissions events.

• Diploma or Degree with at least 2 years of work experience.
• Good communication skills and enjoy talking to people.
• Meticulous, with strong administrative skills and the ability to multi-task across different projects.
• Proficient with Office tools such as Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
• Proficient with technology tools such as Zoom, and willing to learn new systems.

JOB PURPOSE

This role reports to the Chief Information Officer or Senior Director, Application Development. Leads development, implementation, and maintenance of logistics software and integrations that is central to the operations of APLL.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Functional Strategy Formation and leadership

Landscape Scanning and System Architecture Development

• Scan the external environment for new systems, technologies, trends to assess and identify potential application and benefits for APLL

• Drive advances in technologies and architectures to increase the value delivered by technology and digital capabilities, either through improvements to the efficiency of technology environment or through those that reduce the total cost of technology operations.

System Development

• Engage with product owners and other key stakeholders to understand pain points is existing Logistics systems and processes
• Lead discussions to identify process and technology solutions and approaches to address gaps and pain points in Logistics systems and processes

• Establish vendor selection criteria and lead vendor selection for key projects and services to ensure robust performance outcomes and value for APLL's investment
• Build and sustain relationships with key vendors and technology partners to ensure APLL has a robust and diversified technology vendor pool which ensures competitive financial terms and performance outcomes for key projects
• Oversee evaluation of vendor performance and take steps to address gaps by holding vendors accountable to deliver to agreed performance criteria

System Operations

• Establish standards and objectives for the management of APLL's Logistics systems and technologies
• Hold operational teams accountable for management of Logistics systems as per established Service Level Agreements
• Oversee outsourcing of system operations capabilities where viable from technical and financial perspective

Team and People Management

• Lead capability building for the team to ensure the team has the right skills to deliver against current and emerging requirements
• Provide feedback and opportunities for development to staffwithin own team

EDUCATION

BS in Computer science, Information Technology or related field

EXPERIENCE

General Experience

10+ years leading a software development team with previous experience as a programmer or solution architect. Experience delivering solutions for logistics business domain is a plus. Must have experience managing projects, including cost estimation, cost tracking, resource planning, risk management, status reporting, product selection, contract execution and procurement. Experience in vendor management including contract execution, performance oversight and negotiation.

About the role

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the day-to-day retail operations.
• Cashier duties using the POS system to process payments, exchanges and returns.
• Receive and process new stock, replenishments, returns, damages and transfers, as well as support all stocktake exercises.
• Prepare and upkeep a clean shopping environment on the floor.
• Communicate to customers about on-going promotions & offers.
• Promote excellent customer experience at all times, including speaking to guests and offering advice on what best suit their needs.

Requirements

• Willing to commit minium 10 hours per week.
• Must be open to work on weekends (especially Saturday) and on public holidays
• Our opening time is 11am, closing time is 630pm.
• Working hours may or may not be full day. Negotiable; but must be able to do closing.
