Job Responsibilities
1. Counsel individuals and groups on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
2. Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counselling
3. Advise patients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet modifications, and food selection and preparation.
4. Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient.
5. Raising awareness and educating colleagues in the health field about the benefits of healthy eating and the latest research
6. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team/supporting the work of other health care professionals, patients and corporate clients
7. Work with kitchen staff and dietitian to assure meals served conform to nutritional standards and department standards
8. Conduct nutrient analysis for foods and menus by developing recipes and menus
9. To develop and conduct health talks, demonstrations and workshops for the public and workplaces
10. Plan and prepare grant proposals to request program funding.
11. Plan and assist with nutrition related projects and gather statistics of the projects
12. Giving talks and delivering presentations on the results of nutrition project trials
13. Any other duties as assigned by managers/ supervisors
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (Nutritional Science, Dietetics/ food science/ life science Degree that incorporates human physiology and biochemistry (or Nutrition and Dietetics or Nutrition and Food Science) or Post gradutate Diploma in nutrition
