About the role
The Director of Projects (Websites, Apps & AI Development) is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight of the planning, execution, and delivery of complex digital projects. This position requires a visionary leader with robust experience managing cross-functional teams focused on optimizing user experience (UX), user interface (UI), technology implementation, and operational excellence across both internal and external projects.
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight: Direct the management of a diverse portfolio of projects related to websites, mobile applications, and AI development, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery that aligns with strategic business objectives.
Best Practices Advocacy: Champion best practices in UX/UI design, technology integration, CRM implementation, and operational efficiencies, ensuring all project outputs meet high standards of quality and user satisfaction.
Internal and External Projects: Oversee both internal tech projects that enhance agency capabilities and external client projects, ensuring consistent delivery of cutting-edge solutions that drive client success.
Leadership Responsibilities: Participate actively in agency leadership, contributing proactively to strategic discussions and planning processes to drive the agency’s vision, mission, and goals.
Culture of Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation and collaboration, encouraging team members to explore new ideas and approaches to deliver best-in-class services.
Client Servicing: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as the primary point of contact for project communications. Manage invoicing, costing, timeline management, and service delivery, ensuring that client expectations are met or exceeded. Build rapport through effective relationship management and proactive communication.
Team Management: Recruit, mentor, and cultivate talent within project teams, promoting a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
Service Innovation: Drive innovation in service delivery processes, seeking out new ways to enhance project execution and meet evolving client needs in digital projects.
Technology Operations: Oversee the technical aspects of project execution, ensuring the adoption of best practices in software development, quality assurance, and technology deployment.
Costing and Rate Cards: Develop comprehensive costing strategies and rate cards for projects, ensuring transparent pricing models that reflect the value delivered to clients.
Pitch Deck Development: Create compelling pitch decks and proposals for prospective clients, articulating the value of the agency's offerings and aligning project solutions with client business goals.
Award Participation: Actively seek opportunities to enter tech projects for industry awards, showcasing the agency's achievements and enhancing its reputation within the industry.
Process Optimization: Develop and implement standardized project management processes and methodologies to streamline operations and enhance project delivery efficiency.
Budget Management: Manage project budgets and financial performance, ensuring proper resource allocation and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
Reporting and Analysis: Prepare and present regular project and performance reports to leadership, highlighting achievements, challenges, and strategic recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing web, app, and AI development projects within a digital agency or technology environment.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams, manage diverse stakeholders, and drive project success.
- Client Focus: Strong orientation toward client satisfaction, with a track record of successfully managing client relationships, invoicing, costing, timeline management, and service delivery.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of web development, mobile applications, and AI technologies, as well as familiarity with industry best practices in UX/UI design and CRM systems.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate challenges and implement effective solutions.
- Certifications: PMP, Scrum Master, or similar certifications are preferred.Industry
