The position

This position is responsible for handling edging and mounting prescriptions lenses into customer’s frames and ensuring the finished spectacle is in good condition before sending it to customers.

The following is a detailed, but not exhaustive, listing of the hands-on tasks you will undertake in the role:

Edging & Mounting

· Receive and unpack lenses from the lens envelope, first check on the lenses condition.

· Checking lenses by using the lensometer to ensure the lens power is accurate and do marking for the optical center and axis according to the orders request.

· Perform tracer machine to trace on the spectacle frame/ lens to get the lens shape and size.

· Operate edging machine to edge the lenses into lens shape that required, and gently mounting it on customer’s frame.

· Operate drilling and grooving machine to fulfill Rimlon and Rimless frame requirements.

· Retouch or chamfer the lenses by machine/ hand edge when needed. E.g., lens oversize, transfer frame etc.

· Quality check for every job to ensure meets the company’s standard, before sending it out to customers.

Other

· Keep all the machine and accessories clean and put it in place.

· Perform machine maintenance and calibration on time.

· Keep the workplace (Edging room) clean and tidy.

• More than three years of professional experience in a software engineer or equivalent position.

• Minimum 3 years or more working experience in building web applications
• Experience with modern web applications in JavaScript (ES 5/6) is a must-have.
• Experience in creation/maintenance of APIs using Node.js is mandatory
• Experience in front-end development with React.js or other JS framework experience is mandatory
• Experience in automated testing using JavaScript testing frameworks/libraries such as Karma, Mocha, Jasmine, Chai and Sinon is highly advantageous.
• Experience with database management/usage (both relational and non-relational), and handling of data in different environments is highly advantageous.
• Experience in tooling processes for modern web applications using Webpack and Gulp is a nice bonus.

What will you do?

• Develop & Build Sequence of Operations for any First of Kind BMS Control system
• Develop BMS control logic using EcoStruxure Control Expert (formerly known as Unity Pro) for M580 HSBY PACs using Customer Design Standards, Derived Internal Data Type (DDT) Lists, standard library of Derived Function Block (DFBs), and Sequence of Operations (SOOs).
• Update DDT lists based on final SOO (Control Philosophy) and logic development.
• Design applications using the standard DFBs as building blocks using existing Customer applications as templates for the program structure.
• Attend internal and customer meetings to review programs and SOO documents.
• Collaborate and succeed within a diverse global team.
• Ensure adherence to Project Playbook (Client Guideline) and Version Control Processes Tune PID loops
• Understand and be able to explain data structures, logic structures, and DFBs developed for program wide use
• Use QA/QC tools and processes

About the Role

Started in 1935, Tamil Murasu is Singapore's only Tamil language newspaper. Tamil Murasu is the main information source for the Tamil-speaking Indian community with its coverage of wide-ranging news, from current affairs to local and foreign news as well as the latest in sports and entertainment, in addition to its strong coverage on news from the Indian community and the sub-continent. As a Video/Photojournalist, you would be required to shoot stills and videos for our multimedia platforms. You will come up with concepts and produce videos for web and mobile platforms, and also capture newsworthy events and people through the lens to make news reports more interesting. You may be expected to present or do voice overs in the videos they produce.

• Collaborate with journalists and/or alone on news content assignments
• Conceptualize, write script and produce videos
• Post and manage all videos for publication on various media platforms, including social media.

Job Requirements
