Job Description

The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is seeking to hire a Research Fellow to develop novel AI-enhanced design methods for heat exchanger for energy saving purpose. The candidate will work on multi-physics numerical simulations, machine learning and manufacturability constrained design optimization. Key Responsibilities:

Draftsperson – Job responsibilities:

• Type of drawings required is civil engineering drawings. Draftsperson is to generate cable route drawings based on topo drawings overlaid with services drawings. Cable routing needs to avoid existing services underground.
• Ensure CAD documentation follows office CAD QA manual, such as having the correct office title blocks, file name, line type, layer system etc.
• Help develop the office CAD QA manual with the Business Manager, seeking to improve it with consultation with colleagues.
• Help with inducting any new colleagues who will be using the CAD system with the CAD QA.
• Submit drawings to relevant authorities or client in the manner stipulated by them. That is, finding out what submission requirements are before commencing drafting. Check file format, layering system etc required.
• Ensure design complies with relevant statutory requirements and standards.
• Maintain the CAD block libraries if any, as per the CAD QA Manual.
• Application for plant maps.

Site Visit

• The Draftsperson may be required to go on site occasionally. The purpose is to enable the Draftspersonto obtain the necessary information in order to produce the CAD documentation.
• The Draftsperson needs to ensure he/she has the proper safety gear and safety credentials to be admitted on site. He/she is to obtain these way in advance of going on site.
• The Draftsperson is to ensure he/she brings all that is necessary for the site visit such as camera, measuring tape, sketchpad etc. He/she should also ask questions on site to obtain information necessary for CAD documentation.

• Coordinating all O&M and plant outage activities to achieve safe, reliable and efficient operation of the Power Station
• Supporting and liaising with relevant Asset/Operation departments for long term power station turnaround planning
• Assist to implement modern O&M practices, tools and techniques for safe, reliable and efficient Power Station operation
• To fully develop and utilize the CMMS for efficient and effective O&M Planning practice and co-ordination with service provider for license management, backup, individual account management and software upgrade

• To assist fully with and help implement all HSE practices and a Quality Management System as applied to the Power Station

• Review the completeness and organize the filing of departmental documentations

• Provide close and constant liaison between operations and maintenance through the individual coordinators
