Duties and Responsibilities
Purchasing and Sourcing
· Purchase high-quality merchandise at the lowest possible price and in the correct quantities.
· Prepare purchase orders, solicit bid proposals, and review requisitions for goods and services.
Supplier Management
· Research and evaluate suppliers based on factors such as price, quality, selection, service, support, availability, reliability, production, and distribution capabilities, as well as supplier reputation and history.
· Negotiate, renegotiate, and administer contracts with suppliers, vendors, and other representatives.
Logistics and Inventory Management
· Monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and follow up on undelivered goods.
· Maintain and review records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product performance, and inventories.
Quality Control and Compliance
· Confer with staff, customers, and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods or services and determine corrective action.
Market Analysis and Strategic Planning
· Study sales records and inventory levels to develop strategic purchasing programs.
· Monitor changes affecting supply and demand, tracking market conditions, price trends, or futures markets.
Export and Delivery Coordination
· Liaise export documents and deliveries.
