• Ensure food storage and cooking areas are clean after each shift/service
• Prepare all potentially hazardous foods at the correct temperature according to the HACCP guidelines

• Communicate any assistance needed during busy periods to the Chef to ensure optimum service to guests

• Check and ensure the correctness of the temperature of appliances and food using thermostats and thermometers, including monitoring freezer systems, such as fans, drains, and doors, for proper operation, and report issues or problems to reporting supervisor.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of food safety policies within the kitchen areas.

• Monitor the quantity of food that is prepared and the portions that are served in to control food waste and ensure that food wastage is controlled.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

We are seeking a passionate culinary professional to join our pre-opening team as our Food & Beverage Supervisor.

As part of the pre-opening team, the incumbent will help embed and strengthen our brand’s service & quality standards and establish the relevant protocols to ensure a successful opening.

Key Responsibilities

The incumbent will be responsible for supervising all aspects of the restaurant for its smooth operation daily. Manages staff on shift and assigns staff to workstations on each shift. The individual also leads staff compliance on service, food hygiene, safety and other standards amongst the team on each shift.

• Supervise opening, operating, and closing procedures
• Efficiently input orders into the Point-of-Sale system when managing food and beverage order.
• Supervise the implementation of plans to improve and standardize all aspects of operations.
• Delegate duties and responsibilities to servers and captains.
• Ensure that all staff adhere to company procedures.
• Communicate politely and effectively with the culinary team.
• Entertain guests in a consistent, professional and positive attitude.
• Monitor the quality and quantity of all food and beverage items served.
• Prints bill, check bill thoroughly before presenting to guests and accept payment.
• Hold briefing with staff for each shift and review occupancy forecast, reservations, special attention, complaints, problematic issues and others as deem appropriate.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Learning & Development Manager to join our pre-opening team for the Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree.

This will be an excellent opportunity for HR professionals to shape the culture and set the standards for Human Capital practices for the new Resort. The incumbent will deepen and advance their HR career by being involved in the formulation and setting up of the HR department and HR policies for the new Resort.

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for cultivating and embedding Banyan Tree’s culture and ethos in the organization.
• Ensure that our vision, mission, core values (IDEALS), Banyan Tree Roots and brand positioning are key aspects of the Resort’s Employee Value Proposition.
• Promote and inculcate a culture of continuous learning
• Conduct regular training needs analysis, and formulate an annual training plan for the Resort.
• Design and curate various training programs to meet both the Resort’s and individual’s learning and development needs.
• Conduct training and orientation programs, core training programs and other related development programs to strengthen the bench-strength of the organization.
• Measure the effectiveness of the training programs. Monitor and advise on the effectiveness, produce data and report on performance, measuring them against specified indicators. Propose strategic and tactical interventions where needed.
• Support Banyan Tree’s Talent Management Programs. This includes recommending outsourcing of training courses and, if and when required, provide suggestions for inviting external resource speakers as part of training programs. The incumbent will also ensure that high potential associates undergo appropriate development programs and activities.

Job Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration or a related field. Advanced Certificate in Training & Assessment (ACTA) will be advantageous.
• Proven track record of 7 to 10 years’ experience in a similar capacity, preferably in the hospitality industry. The candidate should have a proven track record of formulating and developing L&D strategies and programs.
• Experience in curating training courses, conducting and delivering training programs will be required. This should be complemented with a strong understanding of instructional design frameworks and applications.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
• Able to handle matters independently, and able to exercise self-motivation to complete projects.
