ALC invites suitably qualified applicants to apply for faculty positions in the Chinese Language and Culture Division. The Chinese division of ALC provides training for Chinese language teachers through both pre-service and professional development programmes in Singapore.

Requirements

Successful candidates must have:

• a doctoral degree in Chinese Linguistics or Applied Linguistics related to bilingualism, second language acquisition, and teaching Chinese as mother tongue as well as a second language.

• Native or near-native competence in oral and written Chinese and English.

• Extensive experience and expertise in research and teaching of Chinese linguistics to children and young adults, second language acquisition, and pedagogy of Chinese as a second language.

• Expertise in research and teaching linguistic content knowledge, especially Chinese scripts, phonology, grammar, and lexicon.

• Sufficient knowledge of the Singapore curriculum and the Singapore educational system.

• Sufficient knowledge of the Global Chinese curriculums and the education system for international schools

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be expected:

• Teach undergraduate and postgraduate level courses in Chinese (linguistics subject knowledge and related pedagogy in the Chinese language).

• Supervise and mentor undergraduate trainee teachers in their school teaching practice.

• Supervise Masters and PhD dissertation work.

• Lead or collaborate on funded research projects and maintain a strong research and publication record.

• Undertake any administrative duties required as exigencies of the service.

• (For Associate Professor level) mentor young faculty members and serve in the NIE / NTU committees, and offer professional services to schools, the Ministry of Education and other public education-related organizations on a request basis.

As an Air Conditioning Repair & Servicing Technician, your main duties is to service, troubleshoot and repair air conditioning systems to ensure optimal performance and indoor air quality. This role involves diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting routine maintenance to enhance system efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Job Description:

• Collect the spare parts from the warehouse store based on the daily job indicated on the tablet.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues on malfunctioned HVAC systems.
• Wash and clean all dismantled parts to improve efficiency and air quality.
• Refill refrigerants by replenishing and fixing leaks as needed.
• Communicate with clients with regards to problems in equipment and post-jobs reports.
• Ensure safe-keeping of hand tools and maintain good housekeeping.
• Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) when necessary (e.g. googles, earplugs, respirators, safety harnesses, safety shoes, helmets, sunscreen).
• Ensure all works are carried out safely in accordance with safety procedures and practicing of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act.
• Provide technical advice and assistance on all maintenance functions.
• Prepare service reports after every completed job for customer's endorsement.
• Handle any ad-hoc projects and duties assigned by reporting manager and/or management.

Job Requirements:

• Possess a Singapore Class 3 license will be an added advantage.
• Minimum Nitec / NTC 2 or 3 certificates in Electrical, Mechanical or Electronic field.
• At least 1 year of working experience in the related field; with maintenance experience in HVAC, refrigeration & M&E systems.
• Positive attitude, good interpersonal & customer-centric skills.
• Experience in air-conditioning repair & maintenance.
• Strong knowledge/experience in HVAC or ACMV systems for residential or commercial sectors.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• No experience is also welcome to join as apprentice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage full accounts cycle, including bank reconciliation and journal entries.
• Ensure accurate data entry in for all transactions.
• Prepare financial data for entry into the financial system
• Keep accounting records and bank statements
• Ensure timely, accurate month-end and year-end closing
• Prepare and file GST returns
• Preparation of tax computation and tax planning
• Filling tax returns on time and updating the management about new changes in rules and regulations.
• Liaise and coordinate with external auditors and tax agents;
• Ensure accounting deadlines are met;
• Review subsidiary accounts
• Other ad hoc duties

Job Requirement

• Diploma in Accountancy or equivalent.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Have prior experience in handling full set of accounts and statutory reporting
• Independent to fulfil tasks and a team player to perform tasks in the company workflow
