General Overview

This position is part of the Production team performing LNG Terminal operations of loading and unloading of LNG from vessels and re-gasification process of LNG for the natural gas pipeline network supply. The position requires the incumbent to perform fieldwork and operate the DCS. The incumbent will work closely with the marine, technical and maintenance team to perform the operations.

Roles and ResponsibilIties

The primary duties are listed as follows:

• Perform routine field inspections on equipment operating conditions to ensure safe operating limits.
• Perform unloading of chemicals/utilities into receiving tanks.
• Perform jetty operations such as berthing in of vessels, operating marine loading arms and undertake Loading Master role.
• Operate DCS to monitor and control the overall terminal process within the design parameters and to meet customers’ gas nomination requests.
• Maintain comprehensive unit logs with proper data of all activities occurring in the shift and to ensure proper changeover of shift including any follow-up activities requirement.
• Support other production activities in relation to other businesses and services such as vessel cool down, cold energy transfer, LNG Truck Loading etc.
• Perform troubleshooting on equipment and processes when necessary.
• Take corrective action to ensure unit and equipment are operated under safe and optimum conditions. Generate work orders for maintenance work on equipment when necessary.
• Secure and prepare equipment and work sites for maintenance work according to Safe Operating Procedures requirements such as equipment lock-out and tag-out, low tension electrical de-energization etc.

• Preferably with knowledge of plant instrumentation and control systems and DCS.
• Practical working knowledge of mechanical equipment, heat transfer equipment cryogenic equipment, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, LNG tanks, fired equipment and flare systems.

Reporting to Senior Laboratory Supervisor, this position will perform laboratory testing and ad-hoc analyses of production samples of Alpha-Olefin Copolymers, namely TAFMER™ & EPR products, for the chemical plant.

Responsibilities:

• Perform daily shipment and non-routine analysis of in-process and finished products in accordance to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and safe work procedures
• Perform basic calibration for laboratory equipment to ensure that they are maintained in good working condition
• Carry out documentation control for test results and ensure proper documentation of laboratory work and quality control records in accordance to the SOP
• Prepare density columns for grade transition for in-process and classification testing
• Ensure that good housekeeping is maintained in the Laboratory
• Provide support for Laboratory-related assignments as and when assigned by immediate superior

Requirements:

• Diploma in Applied Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or an equivalent discipline with 5 years of relevant experience

1. To routinely follow written and verbal instructions in order to operate the plant(s), other site services & vehicle loading/unloading safely and efficiently. The detailed scope of role may vary between sites.
2. To identify and explain ideas for safety and efficiency improvements in area of work and to be members of multidisciplinary teams to prioritise & implement improvements.
3. To effectively and accurately communicate with people in the production team and other functions on site (e.g.maintenance, planning & logistics). This will be mainly verbal, e-mail and written.
4. To be accountable for own health and safety and for those around them who could be affected by their actions.
5. To ensure that safe methods of work are maintained and site specific SHE standards are adhered to, this will include the relevant risk identification and assessment , permitry compliance and incident reporting etc. on each site. To understand the consequences of not paying attention to detail and not following instructions fully.
6. To make routine decisions on plant and site service operations following procedures. Non routine decisions are usually made with referral to line manager or Team Leader.
7. To effectively plan and organise work and materials on own shift and prepare for oncoming shift in area of responsibility to achieve the site logistics and production plans. This includes the safe and effective handovers between shift teams.
8. To train and coach new recruits in their roles.
9. To carry out maintenance tasks (the level of maintenance activity is site specific). In some sites the job holder prepare the plant(s) or the equipment for maintenance activity following written and verbal instructions.
10. To carry out agreed analytical testing (the level of analytical activity is site specific).
