Host Pathogen Interactions Lab in A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR IDL) is actively seeking a Scientist to join our mission of becoming a leading center for infectious diseases research. A*STAR IDL is dedicated to advancing translational research in infectious diseases to improve both health and economic outcomes.

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented researcher to lead the research on a 3 year funded research project as well as develop novel ideas in the broad scope of host-pathogen interactions and infectious diseases. Preliminary data gathered will help develop the researcher’s career and path to independence through the various early-career support available internally in A*STAR as well as in the Singapore ecosystem.

The funded project will aim to characterize and compare host-alphavirus interactions at the immune response level in vivo in animal models through a novel viral-centric approach. Preliminary data of the lab has shown a differential adaptive immune response polarization between two alphaviruses and identified, via in vivo comparative multiOmic approaches, a set of candidate host factors potentially responsible for the phenotype. The project will entail a close characterization of these host factors and their role in the viral life cycle as well as the modulation of the immune response of small animal model to these viruses. In addition to multi-Omics approaches (including single-cell and spatial), protein-protein interactions, microscopy, functional genomics, viral reverse genetics and CRISPR Cas9 gene editing will be some of the tools used to investigate this viral hijacking and understand the host-viral interplay. Animals models available in the lab include mice and zebrafish. Downstream of characterization will aim to validate these targets in small preclinical models for subsequent drug discovery in the A*STAR ecosystem. Throughout the project, close collaborative work within A*STAR IDL as well as other institutes throughout Singapore and overseas will be used to leverage expertise for high impact studies.

Job Requirements

NTC-2 Certificate / Technical Diploma / NITEC / Higher NITEC in Electrical Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Building Services or its equivalent

At least five (5) years of working experience in maintaining mechanical and electrical equipment and/or building services

Pro-active, independent, able to work with minimal supervision and perform under pressure

Good team worker with service-orientated mindset

Working hours : 5.5 days

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative, technical and operational support for the lab
• Review activities involves high risk agents
• Work closely with other bio staff for the implementation of programs and services
• Maintain the budgetary and operational capabilities of the lab to ensure that the facility remains in full compliance

• Degree in Life science or any related field
• At least 2 years of working experience
• Experience in high containment facility

• Perform Corrective and Preventive Maintenance of wafer fab manufacturing equipment.

Requirement

• Candidate must possess at least Diploma in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Mechatronic/Electromechanical) or equivalent.
• No work experience required.
• Preferably Entry Level specialized in Engineering - Mechanical/Automotive or equivalent.
• Work overtime during weekends and public holidays
• Working in cleanroom

Key Responsibilities:

- Installation, configuration, testing and commission for CCTV System

- Design and implementation of large-scale analogy and IP CCTV network

- Server management, configuration of CCTV application software, Wireless CCTV system and remote access for client monitoring and controlling of the system by control station

- Integration of CCTV system with access control and BMS : Installation ,configuration, testing and commissioning for access control, Intercom, alarm system

- Maintenance, installation, onsite fault analysis and replacement of a wide variety of equipment such as:

• Intrusion Alarm systems – Bosch, Craddx & NetWorX
• Access control systems – In-house product, Pacom, Lenel, Bosch
• CCTV systems – Lenel, Axis, Bosch, Panasonic, Pelco, FLIR

- Installation, testing and commissioning of CCTV Systems, Intrusion Detection System, Door Access System, Turnstile, Flap Barrier, Mantrap Capsule and Road Barrier System

- Configuration of IP

Qualifications:

- Min. Secondary Education/ Diploma/ WSQ Cert

- Min. 5 years working experience

• Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids,lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity and repair work and report to workshop foreman for necessary technical assistance
• Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade
• Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
• Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
• Has Experience in Automotive repairing, repair tyres,engine tune-ups, oil changes, gearbox repair, air-con & system diagnosis
• Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on sample preparation, building, and instrumentation.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum NITEC/ Certificate/ Diploma in Automotive Engineering/ Mechanical or equivalent
• Valid Driving License
• Candidate with relevant experiences in handling passenger car is a plus
