5) Change management

• Manage variations and changes to the scope of MEP works, assessing their impact on project costs.

• Ensure changes are properly documented and communicated to relevant stakeholders.

6) Risk management

• Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with MEP works and develop mitigation strategies.

• Monitor and report on risk factors that may affect project costs.

7) Reporting

• Provide regular reports to project management and stakeholders on the financial status of MEP works.

• Communicate key cost-related metrics, deviations, and forecasts to facilitate informed decision-making.

8) Final Accounts

• Prepare accurate and comprehensive final accounts for MEP works, including all variations and adjustments.

• Ensure that final accounts are agreed upon and finalized in a timely manner.

Qualifications: -

1) Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering or a related field.

2) Minimum 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying Consultancy Firm or Construction Firm.

Job Description

• Position Title: Quantity Surveyor / Cost Estimator
• Working Location: West (Nearest MRT: Jurong East)
• Working Hours: 5.25 days (Mon – Fri, 8.30 am – 6 pm; Alternate Sat, 9 am – 12 pm)
• Salary Package: Up to $4,200 + Variable Bonus
• Duration: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

• Develop accurate construction project costs from plans and specifications.
• Keep the project budget in line with client needs and financial constraints.
• Procure materials, subcontractor services, and equipment required for construction projects through competitive tendering processes.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors for good terms.
• Analyze tender documents and prepare comprehensive bid proposals in response to client requirements.
• Create Bills of Quantities (BQs) and pricing schedules.
• Check measurements and amounts on job sites to match project requirements.
• Implement cost control measures to track project expenses, identify variances, and mitigate budget overruns.
• Keep detailed records for contracts to help with audits and rules.
• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, providing regular updates on project costs, progress, and challenges.
