Job Requirements

• Good law degree from NUS or SMU or recognized overseas law degrees from United Kingdom and called to the Singapore Bar

• 6 to 8 years PQE and in-house legal counsel experience

• Strong corporate and commercial background; experience in automotive or retail sectors would be an advantage

• Ability to work efficiently and independently, good team player and business partner

• Commercially savvy, able to apply knowledge of Group’s business and operations to provide value added legal advice and highlight risks

Legal Advisory

• Give legal advice on issues relating to GWM’s operation of business, projects, financial products, credit transactions and investment activities

Draft and review documents

• Draft and review the bank’s account-related documentation as well as documentation relating to credit products, investment products, discretionary mandates and insurance products.

Projects / initiatives

• Provide legal representation on GWM’s regional initiatives as well as legal support in relation to implementation of new technological platforms, cross border business arrangements and launch of new products.

Risk management

• Safeguard the bank’s reputation by ensuring that the business is in compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines in the jurisdictions where GWM conducts business

Educational Qualifications

• Law degree holder with at least 7-10 years of proven experience in wealth management (including private banking) within a law firm and/or a bank, specifically, in the high net-worth and mass affluent space, and/or retail banking experience.
