SHECARES@SCWO is an initiative by SG Her Empowerment Limited (“SHE”), in collaboration with SCWO (Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations).
SHECARES@SCWO renders assistance to persons experiencing gender based online harms, also known as tech-facilitated gender-based violence. Our services are open to all, including men and women.
We provide help through calls on helpline, text messages through textline, and face-to-face counselling services for victims of gender-based online harms. Examples of the types of harms faced by our clients include online impersonation, cyberbullying, image-based sexual abuse, doxing and others We also collaborate with Pro-Bono SG (PBSG) to provide clients with pro bono legal assistance through regular legal clinics. Victims may also require guidance on filing reports with the police and/or social media platforms.
SHECARES@SCWO provides information on resources for online harm and referrals for other services to our community partners. We also conduct public education and training sessions for community partners about online harms, and how to tackle this growing issue.
We are now looking for a full-time Intern.
SHECARES@SCWO is hiring a full-time Intern to provide assistance and support to victims of gender-based online harm and to be involved in the centre’s day-to-day operations and programme management. The Intern will also have the opportunity to be part of advocacy projects to make positive changes to society!
The Intern will provide vital administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth running of the centre. The Intern will work closely and support the centre’s counsellors in rendering assistance to clients.
The Job:
· Providing quality and timely response to individuals seeking support from SHECARES@SCWO through calls, WhatsApp, emails, walk-ins, referrals, and other platforms.
· Coordinate with PBSG for clients who register to either have urgent legal consultations (for urgent cases) or for fortnightly legal clinics (for non-urgent cases).
· Organising and ensuring smooth running of fortnightly legal clinics.
· Conduct talks and workshops for internal stakeholders, external partners and clients pertaining to online harm issues as part of outreach and education.
· Performing administrative and operational duties to ensure smooth running of the centre.
· Offering support to clients by liaising with, providing information and making referrals to other relevant agencies.
· Supporting the development of the centre’s services through coordination of processes and ensuring knowledge consistency.
· Maintaining and preparing accurate recording of data and monthly reports to stakeholders.
· Support a group of helpline volunteers
· Assist with other relevant duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Technical Competencies:
· Final year students or fresh graduates in undergraduate/diploma courses such as counselling, social work, psychology or a relevant field may apply.
· Strong interpersonal communication abilities with individuals and systems at multi-levels.
· Enjoys working in a dynamic social service environment.
· Enjoys working on a range of tasks and responsibilities related to direct work and service planning.
· Team player with an ability function effectively in a fast-paced environment
· Singaporean or PR only.
