SHECARES@SCWO is an initiative by SG Her Empowerment Limited (“SHE”), in collaboration with SCWO (Singapore Council of Women’s Organisations).

SHECARES@SCWO renders assistance to persons experiencing gender based online harms, also known as tech-facilitated gender-based violence. Our services are open to all, including men and women.

We provide help through calls on helpline, text messages through textline, and face-to-face counselling services for victims of gender-based online harms. Examples of the types of harms faced by our clients include online impersonation, cyberbullying, image-based sexual abuse, doxing and others We also collaborate with Pro-Bono SG (PBSG) to provide clients with pro bono legal assistance through regular legal clinics. Victims may also require guidance on filing reports with the police and/or social media platforms.

SHECARES@SCWO provides information on resources for online harm and referrals for other services to our community partners. We also conduct public education and training sessions for community partners about online harms, and how to tackle this growing issue.

We are now looking for a full-time Intern.

SHECARES@SCWO is hiring a full-time Intern to provide assistance and support to victims of gender-based online harm and to be involved in the centre’s day-to-day operations and programme management. The Intern will also have the opportunity to be part of advocacy projects to make positive changes to society!

The Intern will provide vital administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth running of the centre. The Intern will work closely and support the centre’s counsellors in rendering assistance to clients.

The Job:

· Providing quality and timely response to individuals seeking support from SHECARES@SCWO through calls, WhatsApp, emails, walk-ins, referrals, and other platforms.

· Coordinate with PBSG for clients who register to either have urgent legal consultations (for urgent cases) or for fortnightly legal clinics (for non-urgent cases).

· Organising and ensuring smooth running of fortnightly legal clinics.

· Conduct talks and workshops for internal stakeholders, external partners and clients pertaining to online harm issues as part of outreach and education.

· Performing administrative and operational duties to ensure smooth running of the centre.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION

Founded in 2011, Empact is a social enterprise with a social mission to build the capacity of social organisations in Singapore and the region. As a capacity builder to non-profits and social enterprises, we serve as an intermediary to our corporate partners where we match and manage their resources, expertises and skilled volunteers with the real needs in the social sector.

Much of the matching, in most cases require us to design and develop customised activities or programmes for a meaningful exchange or partnership between corporates and social organisations. This is to ensure a win-win for both parties towards a sustainable and effective social impact.

In the bigger scheme of our social mission, we bridge the capacity gap in the social sector with other stakeholders such as government agencies, grantmakers and volunteers to provide social organisations access to affordable (or pro bono) and professional services that are critical to their daily operations.

Over the past years, we have impacted more than 700 social organisations and channelled 8,000 volunteers to contribute to the growth of the social sector. In 2019, we were selected as a finalist for the Social Enterprise of Year by of the President Challenge. This is the highest accolade for social enterprises in Singapore.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Empact is a fast-growing social enterprise, this is truly an opportunity for individuals who are motivated to exercise and stretch their different skill sets and gain professional development. The abilities to innovate, find creative solutions to unprecedented clients' needs, and a broad knowledge base that the individual may tap on are key to excelling in this role.

The Intern is required to:

• Major in Business, HR, Management, or Social Science

• Commit full-time for a minimum period of 3 months. Preferable: 6 months.

• Possess keen interest in advisory and consulting work, organisation transformation, research and evaluation of social impact

• Be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (esp. PowerPoint and Excel). A good understanding of other software to develop business presentations, photo and video edits, and statistical analysis would be considered favourably

• Be comfortable as an independent worker and to communicate with team members

Program Support:

1. Assist with planning and designing programme objectives, timelines, and action plans
2. Develop programme materials and documents, such as infopacks, guides, training materials, etc.
3. Support programme implementation, including recruiting and engaging with participants, volunteers, and partners
4. Assist with evaluating programs and initiatives run by ActSEA and impact organisations in our network by designing tools, collecting data, analysing data, and preparing reports

Research Support

1. Assist with carrying out secondary data, quantitative, and qualitative data analysis, and prepare final reports for consulting assignments
2. Compile feedback from ActSEA’s external programs, projects, and activities, and assist with the data analysis and report writing

Administrative Tasks:

1. Provide general administrative support, including scheduling meetings and managing correspondence
2. Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and other materials as needed
3. Maintain organised records and files related to research and program activities

Operational Support:

1. Develop and implement data management policies and processes across the organisation
2. Assist with collecting, compiling, analysing and presenting basic data on the organisational and project level to support strategic decision-making as well as programme design and implementation
3. Review operational processes related to programme implementation and volunteer management within ActSEA and our partners, and identify and implement solutions to enhance operational efficiency.

Administrative Tasks:

1. Assist with processing the approval and payment of invoices, reimbursement claims, and payroll, for ActSEA as well as impact organisations in our network
2. Support the accurate and timely entry of financial transactions and compilation of supporting documents into Google Sheets, NocoDB, and/or Quickbooks for ActSEA as well as impact organisations in our network to ensure smooth project implementation.

As a Software Development Intern, you will work with your team to design and build software applications using Java & JSP, HTML5, Javascript, AJAX, jQuery, CSS, MySQL.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and build responsive user friendly web applications.
• Integrate REST APIs and implemented best practices.
• Collaborate with our team of designers, animators, hardware and software engineers. The key to success is to integrate all aspects of the project and deliver as one working solution
• Communicate with 3rd party APIs
• Design and implement database schemas
• Develop documentation including help text, report samples , screen samples and any documents as required
• Provide technical support and expert advice throughout all stages of various projects.
• Grow with the team through constant experimentation of new techniques and technologies via team collaborations, online communities or self research.
• Empower the interactive 3D web development workflow and share the passion / knowledge with the team.

Learning outcomes & objectives:

• Learn to developer and deliver working software applications in a team.

• Social Media Management: Manage and curate our social media accounts (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.) to engage with our audience and promote our brand.
• Livestream Assistance: Assist in planning and executing live streams to interact with our customers and showcase our products.
