What you can expect

As a Senior Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a crucial role in the team’s daily operations involving threat monitoring and detection. Collaborating with a dynamic team, you will intake cybersecurity related requests from internal and external entities that require triage, remediation, or escalation.

What you will do

• Perform deep dives into suspicious security events by collating data from various sources, working across multiple GIS Control Teams, to determine if a critical system or data has been impacted.

Requirements:

A Research Associate position is currently available in the Earth Observatory of Singapore (EOS).

The EOS at NTU Singapore is a national science Research Center of Excellence. Its mission is to conduct fundamental research on earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, tsunami and climate change in and around Southeast Asia, toward safer and more sustainable societies.

The Air Pollution and Health team's research of Prof. Steve Yim focuses on the interactions between climate and air quality, and the resultant impacts on public health and ecosystem. The team's ongoing research is to develop, advance and utilize the state-of-the-art multi-scale atmospheric models, along with measurement and statistical approaches, to understand the mechanisms that drive the climate-air quality interactions, and evaluate the impacts on human exposure, mosquito abundance and soil acidity.

Particular interests are in investigating air quality impacts of sectoral emissions and transboundary air pollution at multiple spatial scales, studying regional climate change due to land-use changes and global climate change, and evaluating and quantifying the effects of air pollution on respiratory and cardiovascular diseases. The team also assesses and develops emission control scenarios to provide scientific-based policy solutions for a sustainable environment in present and future years.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess the association between interstitial lung diseases (ILD) and air pollutants in Southeast Asia
• Develop a prediction system to forecast air quality and the risk of ILD with group members
• Work on the data collection, processing, and analyses
• Help in the ground-level observations of air quality in Singapore using LiDARs. Document the results in reports
• Complete tasks that his/her supervisor assigns

The job holder will carry out cutting edge research in hardware and/or cyber physical system security to discover security vulnerabilities and threats in the hardware design and supply chain, and develop countermeasures, design methodologies, design tools, testing, verification and/or implementations that help to thwart these threats and enhance the trustworthiness of electronic sensing, storage, computing and/or communication systems.

The job holder will be actively involved in teaching and administration to contribute to the University’s aspiration to be a world-class research-intensive university. The job holder will be given time to develop his/her research, initially receiving a reduced teaching and administrative workload.

Responsibilities

• Secure research funding to build up research, and provide high quality research outputs in publications, invention disclosures, and engineering designs, tools, protocols, etc. in addressing security and privacy protection challenges faced by emerging technologies and applications, such as heterogenous integration, internet of things, artificial intelligence, implantable and wearable devices, physical unclonable functions, radio frequency fingerprint, post-quantum cryptography, distributed computing, or cross-disciplines hardware and cyber physical security.
