Within the legal department, the contracts team manages all transactions for Seagate, including sales, procurement, facilities, IT, and supply contracts. We also provide guidance and support for the acquisition and sale of goods and services. Our contracts team is dedicated to delivering outstanding support to our internal business partners.
Job Description
Draft and negotiate contracts: Manage a portfolio of purchasing and related contracts supporting Seagate’s APAC operations.
Collaborate with Seagate attorneys: Draft and negotiate contracts and other legal documents under the general supervision of a Seagate attorney, using standard templates.
Determine business requirements: Work with internal requestors to understand business needs and negotiate contract terms accordingly.
Review various contracts: Oversee marketing, promotions, facilities, IT, and general procurement contracts.
Identify non-standard terms: Collaborate with attorneys and relevant stakeholders to review and approve non-standard contract terms.
Contract management: Independently manage contract workflow and approval processes, ensuring compliance with Seagate policies.
Maintain contract database: Keep an updated database throughout the contract lifecycle, from drafting and signing to amending, renewing, terminating, and archiving.
Balance workload: Share responsibilities with other contract managers and paralegals to maintain a balanced workload within the department.
Cross-functional support: Assist other areas of the legal department, including compliance, dispute resolution, intellectual property, government relations, and labor law, and coordinate between Seagate attorneys and outside counsel.
Drive process improvements: Manage and lead ad hoc projects aimed at improving processes.
Job Requirements
· A minimum of 10 years in a contracts manager or similar role.
· Experience managing procurement contracts in Singapore, Malaysia, and India is highly desirable.
· Experience in supply chain operations is advantageous.
· A motivated self-starter who excels as a collaborative team player.
· Ability to exercise independent judgment and employ creative problem-solving skills.
· Thorough understanding of the role’s implications in protecting Seagate.
· Capability to make sound business recommendations.
· Proficient in managing and prioritizing multiple contracts, tasks, and projects.
