The successful incumbent will Assistant Director, Operations / Lead Reintegration Mentor in ensuring the smooth running of the daily operations at Selarang Halfway House (SHWH) or future new site at Cosford and is responsible for the safety and welfare of the residents and the overall security of the Halfway House premises. They will work closely with the SHWH Case Managers to aid residents with their reintegration back to society.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Oversee security screening to ensure contrabands are not brought into the house.

2. Facilitate the daily operational routine of SHWH or future new site:

a) Ensure the day-to-day needs of the residents and operational requirements of the halfway house are being met.

b) Facilitate the process of residents checking in and out of the halfway house on a daily basis and provide daily updates on the headcount and other activities/incidents (if any) throughout the tour of duty. Any unusual movements should be highlighted and reported to the relevant parties.

c) To ensure that there is seamless transition during the handing and taking over of shift duties. The jobholder is also responsible in ensuring that all outstanding matters have been clearly communicated to the next duty personnel and are promptly followed up with.

d) Provide logistical support to residents during their stay in SHWH or future new site. To assist occasionally with carrying & moving of bulky/heavy items.

e) Conduct patrols and searches in the SHWH Living Units to ensure the safety of residents.

3. Work closely with Case Managers in the case management of residents, including monitoring and maintaining proper records on the progress, movement, and other relevant information pertaining to the residents.

4. Assist in handling any grievance procedure and carrying out preliminary investigation of incidents and/or disciplinary issues (when assigned).

5. Identify any defect(s) or work(s) to be carried out pertaining to the halfway house’s estate management issues during daily tour of duty and to feedback to Singapore Prison Service Corporate Services Team for follow up.

As an Associate within the APAC Legal Entity Risk Management team, you will report to the APAC Legal Entity Risk team lead and provide support to the Chief Risk Officers (CRO) and Legal Entity Risk Managers (LERM) for Singapore and China. Your role involves further developing and implementing the entity’s risk governance structure to ensure effective execution of the legal entity risk management framework. You will collaborate with various risk functions, such as Market, Credit, Liquidity, and Operational risk, gaining a solid understanding and oversight of the entity’s risk profile and emerging risk themes. Additionally, you will build meaningful partnerships with key functional stakeholders at various levels within the Firm.

Job responsibilities

• Implement an effective risk governance structure for the entity

• Perform secretariat functions for the location Risk Committees

• Prepare risk governance related materials for local governance committees e.g., the Management Committee

• Engage proactively on regulatory deliverables, examinations and requests pertaining to risk governance and cross-risk stripes

• Partner with key functional teams to assess and address applicable regulatory changes impacting risk, including emerging risk themes, e.g., Climate Risk and Data Governance

• Ascertain adherence to internal risk policies, procedures and external risk related regulations, including the maintenance and oversight of legal entity risk governance documents e.g., entity’s risk appetite framework, risk governance frameworks and Risk Committee charter

• Participate in projects and initiatives impacting Risk Management

• Contribute to the resolution and escalation of risk oversight issues

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Bachelor’s degree

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in risk management, compliance, finance, or control management in the financial services industry

• Effective verbal and written communication in Mandarin Chinese to collaborate and engage with stakeholders in China

• Skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and Word

• Proficient in stakeholder management and able to foster productive relationships

• Intellectual curiosity and able to demonstrate the ability to learn quickly

• Good degree of initiative, self-direction and level-headed
