• Provide strategic legal counsel and advice to the management and business units on various legal and compliance matters.
• Assist with the development and implementation of internal compliance policies and procedures. Analyse and evaluate internal processes and provide recommendations to improve legal risk management.
• Develop compliance training programmes for employees to promote awareness and understanding of internal policies and legal and compliance requirements.
• Manage disputes, litigation and any regulatory matters that may arise or affect the company’s business in local and regional offices.
• Advise on corporate governance matters and ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements, such as meeting filing and lodgment requirements.
• Keep abreast of emerging compliance risks affecting the company. Continuously monitor new laws and regulations relevant to the business and ensure that the company's practices comply with the foregoing.
• Review a broad range of contracts, including sales/distributorship contracts, purchase contracts and service contracts. Identify areas of improvement to legal precedents and develop new templates and bespoke contracts in line with business needs.
• Liaise with China HQ on reporting and approval matters.
• Assist the Head of Department in leading and guiding the legal function.
• Handle any other work assigned by the Head of Department and management.

The Nanyang Centre for Public Administration (NCPA) at the College of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore invites applications for Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work closely with Professor Liu Hong, Director of NCPA (Research & Executive Education), who will serve as the primary mentor, and other research staff at NCPA as well as the School of Social Sciences
• Coordinate NCPA's research activities within NTU (including the Lien Ying Chow Legacy Fellowship Programme) and with external partners

Job Requirements:

• PhD in one of the relevant fields of Asian studies, international political economy, political science, public policy, sociology, ethnic studies, and global history
• Interdisciplinary and comparative approach to Asian political economy in the context of globalization and new geopolitics is particularly welcomed
• For those working on China and ASEAN, possessing bilingual capacities (English and Chinese or English and a Southeast Asian language) will facilitate the research process.
• Demonstrate records in publication and research activities in the relevant research themes
• Preference will be given to those who have experience in the Asian region and are able to connect area studies with on-going discourses about the international political economy and public governance
