Requirements:

• Minimum ‘O’ level / Professional Certificate. Applicants without the minimum qualification but with proven experience and WSQ Supervisory qualification is acceptable.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Security Monitoring:

• Monitoring of security cameras, alarms, and access control systems to identify and respond to security threats and breaches.
• Conduct regular foot patrols of the premises to maintain a visible security presence.

2. Access Control:

• Verify the identity and authorization of employees, visitors, and contractors entering the facility.
• Issue visitor badges and maintain accurate records of visitor logs.

3. Security Checks:

• Perform routine security checks of designated areas, including locking and unlocking doors, gates, and entrances.
• Inspect and report any irregularities, such as unauthorized personnel, suspicious packages, or safety hazards.

4. Emergency Response:

• Respond promptly to security incidents, including alarms, disturbances, or emergency situations.
• Follow established emergency procedures and assist in evacuations if necessary.

5. Incident Reporting:

• Document all security-related incidents, including thefts, accidents, or violations of security policies.
• Prepare detailed incident reports and share them with relevant authorities and management.

6. Customer Service:

• Provide a high level of customer service to employees, visitors, and guests.
• Assist individuals with directions, information, or any security-related inquiries.
• Assist with all relevant check-in / check-out of residents or guests in the boarding school.

7. Security Procedures:

• Enforce security policies, procedures, and protocols consistently and fairly.
• Collaborate with management to review and update security procedures as needed.

8. Equipment Maintenance:

• Ensure that security equipment, such as surveillance cameras and alarms, is in good working condition.
• Report any malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.

9. Safety Awareness:

• Promote a culture of safety and security awareness among employees.
• Participate in security training and drills as required.

10. Collaboration:

• Coordinate with local law enforcement agencies and emergency services when necessary.
• Work closely with other security personnel and team members to ensure a cohesive security strategy.

Requirements:

• GCE ‘N’ Level / SPM
• Holder of a valid Security Licence with the grade Senior Security Officer
• Possess WSQ Security-related Senior Security Officer certifications.
• Proven experience as a Senior security officer
• Strong observational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Physical fitness and the ability to stand, walk, and lift as needed.
• Knowledge of security operations and procedures.
• Basic computer skills for operating security equipment and generating reports.
• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to security and safety.
• Able to perform shift work ranging from 8hrs to 12hrs during weekday, weekend or public holiday.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Network Setup and Maintenance:

Help set up and keep the organisation's network running smoothly by following the network design, ensuring everything works well, is reliable, and can handle future growth.

2. Security Management:

Follow and monitor security policies to protect the organisation's IT systems, including managing firewalls, VPNs, and security systems, and suggest improvements when needed.

3. Troubleshooting and Support:

Provide level 2 and 3 support for network and security issues. Escalate complex problems to the IT Manager when necessary and assist the Help Desk with general IT support.

4. Backup and Disaster Recovery:

Carry out and maintain backup and disaster recovery plans to minimise downtime and prevent data loss during problems.

5. System Monitoring:

Regularly monitor network performance and security alerts. Respond to issues promptly and take preventive steps to avoid problems, either directly or by working with external partners.

6. Documentation:

Keep all documentation related to network settings, security procedures, and IT support processes up to date so the IT team can easily access them

7. Compliance and Audits:

Ensure the network and security systems meet industry standards and assist in audits or assessments.

8. Collaboration:

Work closely with the IT Manager to align network and security efforts with broader IT goals and provide support when the IT Manager is unavailable.

9. User Training and Support:

Show good security practices and help train staff on network security. Provide general IT support to ensure everything runs smoothly.

10. Vendor Management:

Work with external vendors for network and security projects to ensure services are delivered on time and within budget.

Job Requirements:

Networking and Cybersecurity Skills:

• Good knowledge of setting up and managing network systems, including experience with routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs. Understanding cybersecurity, such as threat management, is a plus, and certifications like CISSP, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are preferred but not required.

Willingness to Learn:

• A strong desire to keep learning about the latest trends and technologies. Being open to taking courses on networking, cybersecurity, and IT support is important.

Experience with Tools:

• Some hands-on experience with network management tools and cloud-based networking and security services.

Problem-Solving Skills:

• Good at analysing problems and coming up with effective solutions for network and security issues.

Communication and Teamwork:

• Able to explain technical information clearly to people who may not have a technical background. Comfortable working in teams and willing to step in and help with IT Manager and Help Desk roles when needed

This role requires strong technical expertise, proactive problem-solving, and the ability to collaborate within a small team.

Qualifications

• 5 - 7 years of IT Security experience in administration and management of IT Security technologies primarily Endpoint Protection, Email Security and DLP, Data Classification and other endpoint & data security solutions;
• Knowledge of different domains of IT Security;
• Working & hands-on experience in administering the IT Security Solutions;
• Must have experience in working in similar Production setup in Run (Operations) mode;
• Ability to apply risk based approach while working on assigned responsibilities;
• Hands-on experience on Symantec Data Loss Prevention (DLP);
• Highly proficient overall security solutions like, Endpoint Protection, Email Security and Vulnerability Management;
• Deployment, integration and administration experience of various components of Symantec DLP:

- Symantec Endpoint Protect

- Symantec Web Prevent

- Symantec Email Prevent

- Symantec Enforce

• Experience in defining, designing and configuring DLP Policies as per the business requirements;
• Deploy, upgrade and troubleshooting knowledge on Symantec DLP solution;
• Deploy, Upgrade and troubleshoot on DAM Solutions like IMPERVA or Guardium
• Expertise knowledge in Email Security Solutions
• Hands-on to Expertise knowledge in MS Defender for endpoint and or Cloud.
• Scripting knowledge (Phyton, Regular Expression, Powershell) is desirable;

• CISSP certified
• Symantec Certified Expert: Administration of Data Loss Prevention (any version)
