Job Duties:

• Provide support to Deputy International Head of Legal & Compliance to manage, support and oversight of the legal and compliance functions of East Asia and Middle East insurance subsidiaries and branches.
• Advise, Monitor and administer Group standards, policies and benchmark guidelines/framework/process (including matters relating to JSOX and Group Control Standards) for the East Asia and Middle East insurance subsidiaries and branches on matters relating to JSOX and Group Control Standards.
• Liaison to Japanese Head Office Legal & Compliance Department including the coordination and management of Japanese regulators.
• Support, plan, manage and oversee the execution of Group & regional legal & compliance initiatives and regional compliance projects, including tracking and monitoring the progress of Group Companies’ compliance projects.
• Manage and prepare Japanese reporting to Japanese Head Office with regards to compliance incident reporting and assessment.
• Perform compliance reviews of Group Companies’ operations and resources.
• Support the Company’s management of Japanese expatriates accounting and reimbursements including work visa matters.
• Overseas business travel is required for this position.

Requirements:

• University Degree with accounting or professional insurance qualifications.
• At least 10 years of experience in a multi-national insurance company with East Asia and Middle East exposure.
• Proficiency in Japanese language is required to liaise with Japan HQ and to read Japanese reports/documents.
• Analytical with good report writing, presentation and communication skills in both English and Japanese language.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

1. Pitching and managing media / influencer interviews and queries
2. Researching, writing and distributing media kit materials (i.e. press release, fact sheet, speech) to targeted media
3. Writing and editing in-house publications, case studies, speeches, articles and annual reports
4. Content creation for social media platforms e.g. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter
5. Monitoring, collating and analysing media/social media coverage
6. Organising events such as media/influencer luncheons, media conferences and media tours
7. Active support in new business opportunities
8. Planning, developing and implementing integrated PR strategies and campaigns (media and social media)

In addition, an Account Manager should be well versed in the following areas

1. Managing accounts and overseeing execution of campaigns
2. Managing and training a team of executives

QUALIFICATIONS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED

A degree and diploma in any subject is acceptable, although English, journalism, media studies and mass communications are preferred. In-house or Agency experience in corporate communications or public relations will be advantageous. Minimum of 2 to 3 years relevant experience is needed for Senior Account Executives and 5 to 7 years for Account Managers.
