viii. To report all faults to Officer in charge upon detection through the fault reporting channels. Some examples of faults include leaking or choking water fixtures, overflowing litter bins, presence of spillage etc.

• Attend to VIP official functions such as lunches, tea receptions, etc, donning proper attire such as black coat and pants. The tasks would include, but not restricted to:

i. Setup/layout of room.

ii. Prepare and serve food/beverages.

iii. Serve catered food;

iv. Reinstate the room to its original layout after events; and

v. Remove and wash all utensils and kitchenware.

Job Description:

1. Coordinating multiple projects with client.
2. Provide consulting services.
3. Develop the work scope as per client's requirements and generate quotation.
4. Oversee daily operation of the department and assist in deployment.
5. Review of reports/ Assist in preparation of reports to meet client's specification / requirement.
6. Follow up invoices & payment by client.
7. Attend management meeting / safety meeting / client meeting as and when required.
8. Other ad-hoc duties as assigned by supervisor.

Job Scope:

• Assist in the design, development, and testing of mechanical systems and components
• Support the assembly of mechanical systems, ensuring alignment with specifications and quality standards
• Collaborate with engineers to improve and troubleshoot mechanical designs
• Conduct inspections and quality checks on assembled parts and systems
• Prepare and update technical documentation, including assembly instructions and reports
• Assist in the assembly and integration of mechanical components into final products
• Perform mechanical testing, collecting data and providing analysis for continuous improvement
• Support in the selection and procurement of materials for mechanical assemblies
• Coordinate with production teams to ensure timely and accurate assembly of components
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting during the assembly process
• Maintain and organize engineering tools, equipment, and assembly areas
• Ensure compliance with safety and industry regulations during the assembly process
• Assist in the development of prototypes and new product designs.

Requirements:

• Nitec / Higher Nitec / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 2 to 3 years of relevant experience
• Knowledge of industrial automation, jigs and fixture design, FMEA, SPC, CAD, and machine design is a plus
• Strong project management skills and self-disciplined
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to travel when necessary

We are looking for a proactive and positive Editorial & Research Assistant to join our team. In this new role, you will work closely with DL colleagues, along with a dynamic group of external partners to support our projects. The Editorial & Research Assistant will provide support to the team through:

• Writing and editing texts for reports, books, articles and web
• Conducting image research and securing rights
• Conducting desktop research in support of publication development
• Proofreading documents
• Editing interview and event transcripts
• Participating in meetings with DL team / partners / clients, including note-taking
• Various administrative and logistical tasks as the need arises.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Minimum two years of working experience after completing a university degree in a relevant subject (e.g. Liberal Arts, English, Journalism, Media, Creative Writing). Superb knowledge of and love for the English language, with outstanding written and spoken communication skills.
• Demonstrable track record in writing, editing and proofreading in professional, academic or voluntary (e.g. an independent publication) settings.
• Proficiency in desktop and bibliographic research and fact-checking.
• Demonstration of initiative, proactiveness and planning; able to anticipate needs.
• Strong problem solving, prioritization, organizational and time management skills.
• Comfort alternating between independent work with light-touch guidance, andsprints of close team working.
• Able to maintain professionalism, composure and confidentiality under conditionsof stress (e.g. short time lines, multi-stakeholder management).
• Strong proficiency with Word/Pages/Google Docs, Google Slides, Excel required;Adobe Creative Suite a welcome bonus.
• Working knowledge and interest in creative industries, culture and sustainability isdesirable.
• Experience working with digital-first outputs (e.g. websites) is a plus.

Further Information
Working hours: Part time, 24 hours per week, for an initial six month period, with a possibleextension, starting from end February or start of March 2025.
