A Senior Geotechnical Engineer position is available with Fugro Marine Geotechnical Team. The Marine Geotechnical service line is responsible for acquiring and interpreting accurate geotechnical data which enables our clients to make informed decisions during the engineering, design and construction phases of infrastructure development projects, ultimately reducing project risk and costs.

About the role

Act as delegated technical authority for Engineering and part of Shift Cross Functional Team to review and resolve promptly to ensure operational flow on technical issues/problems/arisings to meet operation requirements for safety, cost, delivery rate and leadtime (SQCD).

• Manage the conceptualization, development, validation and implementation of new repair technologies

About the role

Perform the Manufacturing Engineering activity in Engine Overhaul/Component Repair production areas. Act as Technical Authority, assuring the initial and continuing capability of the Production method to produce conforming product and ensuring the resolution of technical issues/problems/arisings to meet business and customer requirements for safety, cost, delivery rate and leadtime (SQCD). • Delivery – Ensure that manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture within the business and suppliers are developed and deployed to support/deliver Right First Time manufacture using SPS, DMAIC and System Engineering tools. Manage FAIR/MSA activities and Source & method change in the cell/area of accountability.
• Delivery – Review issues identified e.g. Troubleshoot Strip / Build, Balancing, Runout, In-situ repair, Component Repair processes and key equipment/toolings (ITT, VTL, BTG, Wash, FTB, CMM, etc), determine resolutions and reestablish the Standards.
• Cost – Support cell/area of accountability to meet cost targets e.g. productivity, CONQ etc.
• Standards – Deploy and sustain the SAESL Operating System Standards by working with the Cell/Area CFT, and where applicable with the suppliers. Identify opportunity to improve the Standards.
• Technical Authority – Specify Manufacturing Engineering and process requirements and make technical decisions in relation to the cell/area of accountability.
• Lean/Improvement – Identify requirements for improvements and innovations in manufacturing processes and methods of manufacture within their cell/area of accountability. Prioritise and promote launch of new projects based on business case. Drive manufacturing processes towards identified best practice.
• Deploy capability (including NPI) – Responsible for production readiness of new product manufacturing capabilities or methods of manufacture. Develop numerate, real time methods for capturing process capability, and ensure it is available and acted on within the facility/supply chain. Maintenance of Production Technical Packages (technical instructions, programmes, tooling, etc) for all parts/assembles which clearly define the manufacturing process ensuring manufacturing processes and/or methods of manufacture meets the requirements for quality, cost, delivery rate and lead time.

• Support development of new methods, capabilities and technology to improve engine overhaul processes

1) Coordinate adhoc / consolidation booking with customer and booking of space with airline.

2) Coordinate rates quotation with airline and provide rates to sales team for quotation to customer.

3) Monitor consolidations for various destination, monitor on the space and rates.

4) Send flight schedules to customer upon confimation.

5) Arrange adhoc cargo service for customers. (Fumigation, DG declaration and packing, wooden crate packing)

6) Check uplift of shipment after lodgement to terminal.

7) Send permits and AWB to customer after flight departed.

8) Raise amendment if any to airline and destination agent.

9) Raise monitoring reports for some customer to monitor rates and load.

10) Suggest solution for customer base on their shipping needs. (Training will be provided, assistance will be given by superior.)

11) Communicate with Sales/accounts team regarding quotation and billing matters.

13) Coordinate adhoc coload booking from other coloaders.

14) To solve any problem that may arise for export cargo with destination agents.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Perform audits on Repair Source Substantiation (RSS) packages to verify repair characteristic accountability
• Review RSS audit results to identify trends and coordinate continuous improvement plans to improve NPI quality and first time yield.
• Develop quality system procedures for NPI process to ensure accuracy, compliance and consistency of NPIs delivered by Engineering team.
• Track and monitor post introduction NPIs for quality issues and drive Engineering/Shop for follow up improvements.
• Act as a focal point for all NPI-related queries and clarifications about Quality/regulatory requirements.
• Support conduct of shop internal audit plan as necessary.
• Drive and promote Quality culture and participate in EHS and other shop initiatives as necessary.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college (or equivalent)
• Minimum of 2 years relevant aerospace experience in repair/manufacturing or a quality assurance role
• Knowledge of general aviation legislation and quality systems (ISO9001/AS9100)
