The Rapid Response Damage Assessment (RRDA) program is seeking an Engineer or a Senior Engineer to assist with the modeling and analysis of vessel stability and hull strength for ships and offshore floating structures and verify their compliance with applicable Rules and Regulations.

· The RRDA program provides 24/7 technical assistance to ship and offshore floating structure related emergencies such as grounding and collision. When activated, RRDA is an extension of the vessel management team’s own response capability, focusing on the measure of changes occurring to hull strength, stability and the extent to which risk of pollution can be mitigated. This new position is expected to work along with a group of experienced engineers to respond to client service requests when emergencies occur or participate in routine vessel emergency response drills.

The RRDA work by nature of its complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering or science. Through broader and more technically challenging work assignments, the ideal candidate will develop a thorough understanding of policies, methods and procedures.

What You Will Do:

Job Responsibilities :

• Lead the development and packaging of new features and updates for Razer's Linux distro.
• Develop Linux applications and installers specific for Razer's Linux distro .
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product developers, system administrators, security engineers) to understand and address their needs in the distribution.
• Build and maintain an automated CICD pipeline for building and testing the applications and packaging for the distribution.
• Contribute to the upstream open-source community for projects relevant to the distribution.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in the Linux kernel and distributions.
• Document processes and best practices for development and maintenance of the distribution.
• Troubleshoot and debug issues related to the distribution.

Pre-Requisites :

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining Linux systems.
• Proven experience building and customizing a Linux distribution from scratch (e.g., Ubuntu, Arch, ) or significant contributions to existing distros.
• Strong understanding of the Linux kernel architecture and build system.
• Familiarity with packaging tools like APT, DPKG, RPM, Snap,Flatpak, etc
• Experience with scripting languages like Bash and Python.
• Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Passion for open-source software and the Linux community.
• Familiarity with the Linux graphics stack and Vulkan API is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with containerization and sandboxing technologies, such as Docker or Podman.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines for building and testing software.
• Experience with security best practices for Linux systems.

Responsibilities:

- Respond promptly to and handle customer requests and queries.

- Resolve incidents by troubleshooting system and network problems, diagnosing and resolving hardware/software issues, and analyzing system logs for potential issues.

- Fulfill change requests, service requests, and close problem tickets, including applying OS updates, patches, and configuration changes.

- Conduct preventive maintenance tasks and vulnerability assessments to ensure security compliance and system hardening.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Preferred certifications: CCNA, CCNP, CCIE.

- 1-3 years of experience in network and security management.

- Have experience in supporting firewall and network equipment such as Cisco switches, Check Point, and Palo Alto Networks.

- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to information security.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

• Troubleshooting Laptop/Desktop, email, software Issues.
• Provide a helpdesk service for users enquiries and technical issue reporting on system usage, through phone and emails.
• For Technical issues, make assessment if it can be resolved with the level of system access provided. Escalate unsolved case to other trams with in the stated SLA timing.
• Familiar in Networking
• Has provided some level 1 & 2 user support to end user and VIPs
• Able to communicate clearly, work in a team .

Requirements:

• Nitec/Higher Nitec or Diploma in Computer Technology
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Desktop Troubleshooting.
• Willing to work in an Non camera phone environment.
