Main duties:

- Service engineer is assigned to perform tests, maintenance, repair, inspections, fault-finding and troubleshooting of installed components of marine EGCS (exhaust gas cleaning systems).

Additional tasks:

- Service Engineer (when / if needed) may be assigned to support internal and external stakeholders by providing technical support and solutions and taking ownership of assigned support cases.

Essential responsibilities and relevant key words:

- Prepare required documents for completion of service trips and ensure that the documents are received by Office.

- Assist internal with evaluating and investigating incoming claims and developing scope of work prior to service or warranty repair attendances.

- Assist other Manta Marine engineers during installation, commissioning, and service missions.

- If assigned, hold training sessions for customer/crew members during service-related trips onboard the vessel to ensure that crew members maintain and operate the Manta systems/equipment properly.

- If assigned, perform Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT)

- Submit product improvement proposals to the concerned department and Service Manager in existing and future hardware or software to prevent the reoccurrence of a problem (failures, defects, anomalies, and malfunctions).

Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures:

- Ensures that all activities, both supervisory and administrative tasks, at site agree with the governing laws, rules, standards, and existing policies of the company and at the field.

- Participate in all safety and security training that Manta provides.

Minimum Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

Hard Skills:

- BSc degree or minimum 5 years relevant work experience in the shipping/marine/maritime industry

- Knowledge of proper safety procedures on board and recognition of hazards at sites (marine safety).

- Solid skills in marine electric, having experience and a good understanding of PLCs, network and communication between components.

- Sufficient computer proficiency in:

· MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the presales team to conduct site surveys and assessments. This involves evaluating the customer's location, infrastructure, and specific requirements to determine the ideal setup and deployment for the robot.
• Responsible for setting up, commissioning the robot on-site and ensuring the robot is ready for operation.
• Perform thorough testing, identify and troubleshoot errors/failures and implement appropriate solutions to resolve the issues promptly.
• Handle repairs and maintenance tasks for the robot. This involves conducting regular maintenance activities as per the SOP/guidelines and addressing any breakdowns or equipment failures.
• Travel to customer sites, both local and international (whenever necessary), to provide on-site support, conduct setup/commissioning, perform maintenance tasks, and resolve technical issues at short notice to provide support or address urgent issues. Additionally, you should be willing to adapt to the customer's work environment and schedule, which may include night shifts and public holidays when necessary.
• Responsible for documenting service and fault reports. This includes accurately recording the details of the service provided, issues encountered, and the actions taken to resolve them. These reports are typically submitted to superiors and key individuals within the organization for review and analysis.
• Maintain detailed records of all tasks related to customer service. This includes maintaining customer service logs, updating internal service records, and ensuring all documentation is completed in a timely manner.

The Field Service Engineer reports directly to the Head of Operations, working closely with the Local, Regional & Global teams.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Provide Technical Field Advice, Supervision and perform installation, commissioning, maintenance, upgrades, refurbishment, and repair of high voltage transmission equipment and systems in the field.
• Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics of high voltage transmission equipment to identify and resolve technical issues.
• Provide technical support and expertise to customers, field service engineers, and other internal stakeholders (including offer and project management teams).
• Collaborate with engineering and Sales & PM teams to provide feedback and recommendations for product improvements and modifications.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation related to field service activities, including service reports, time sheets, maintenance logs, method statements, HSE reports, and equipment records.
• Acts as the Siemens Energy representative on site, coordinating responsible job scope and giving final approval and sign-off for works completed at site
• Train and mentor junior field service engineers
• Provide training to customers on routine maintenance tasks
• Contributes to internal and external customer satisfaction by executing Service work according to customer order and expectations

What You Bring

• Electrical Degree with more than 4 years’ working experience in field service engineering within the high voltage transmission industry (including ‘hands-on’ experience with new installations and service)
• In-depth knowledge of high voltage transmission equipment, such as transformers, AIS & GIS switchgear, circuit breakers, and related control systems.
• Proficiency in diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and software (including remote headset technology) used in the high voltage transmission industry.
