The Singapore Management University (SMU) Yong Pung How School of Law invites scholars to apply for Professors/Associate Professors/Assistant Professors (tenure-track) to begin in July 2024.

Professors/Associate Professors/Assistant Professors (tenure-track) will contribute to undergraduate or post-graduate teaching and conduct research in their fields. They will also be involved in projects or events organised by the Yong Pung How School of Law or its research centres including the Centre for Commercial Law in Asia (CCLA), the Centre for AI and Data Governance (CAIDG), Centre for Computational Law (CCLAW), and the Singapore International Dispute Resolution Academy (SIDRA).

Professors/Associate Professors: Tenured positions for academics with international reputation for their research and teaching, as well as leadership roles in their fields.

Assistant Professors: Entry-level, tenure-track positions for junior academics. The first contract is for a four-year period and assistant professors are supposed to apply for tenure before the end of the second four-year contract.

Candidates for assistant professors must possess 1) postgraduate degrees in law from reputable universities. Holders of graduate degrees in other disciplines or current lecturers/assistant professors in other jurisdictions will be considered if they possess outstanding publication records. 2) Applicants should also have three substantive publications (published or accepted for publication), preferably in leading international academic journals. Work experience in appellate courts, international organizations, law firms or technology companies will be an advantage.

Scholars with research in all areas of law are welcome, although subject areas of particular interest include the following:

- Criminal Law and Justice (with focus on cybercrimes and financial fraud)

- Law and Technology (with focus on digital, AI and data governance or computational law)

- Law of Evidence

Ability and willingness to teach Legal Skills, Research and Writing will be considered an advantage, but not required.

Job Description

• Lead the project team in managing hotel requests, including Furniture, Fixture & Equipment (FFE) replacement and procurement, space planning, and interior design.
• Ensure effective coordination and communication within the team.
• Participate in quarterly hotel inspections and follow up on necessary actions.
• Maintain compliance with local authorities and certifications, including Fire Safety Manager certification.
• Provide technical support to the leasing team, including AutoCAD layout, technical coordination with external consultants, and contractors.
• Manage projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
• Project and design manage new development and renovation projects.
• Collaborate with the Asset Management team on various ad hoc projects such as GSTC implementation and ESG initiatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Diploma/Degree holder in Architecture or Interior Design
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in architecture, interior design, hospitality, or developer firms

· To assist the Shipping Manager to ensure daily safe operations of ships with additional responsibilities as assigned.

· Update and monitoring records of all ship certificates and documents

· Maintain and monitor all crew’s manning license, training records and sign on/ off arrangements.

· Maintain MOM/ MPA accounts with regards to the renewal and applications of crew work permit.

· Manage the administrative processes for working inventory, defect reporting and rectification, BOU consumption reports and requisitions for supplies & ship spares.

· Daily communication with Master/CE on noon reports.

· Conduct regular ship inspections to ensure compliance to the local/international statutory requirements, safety procedures and environmental protection requirements.

· Monitor and coordinate SIRE inspections, Oil Major/ Class inspection for all ship equipment and MFM verification.

· Controlling the vessels operational and technical budget

· Address and resolve outstanding observations from audits.
