An Application Engineer serves as the technical liaison between a company and its clients, ensuring software or hardware solutions are effectively implemented and tailored to meet customer needs. This role combines engineering expertise, problem-solving skills, and customer interaction to deliver and support high-quality solutions.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting

o Collaborate with clients to identify and resolve technical issues.

Education and Experience

Job Description:

• Familiar with HVAC offshore / marine regulations and rules, such as, SOLAS, ABS, DNV, NORSOK, ASHRAE, ISO 7547, 8861 etc.
• Preparation of cooling load calculation, ventilation system design, air conditioning design, pressure drop calculation, duct sizing, grille/diffuser sizing, material take off etc.
• Responsible for HVAC equipment sizing and selection.
• Preparation of P&ID, D&ID and ducting layout drawings etc.
• Preparation of electrical single line diagram, cable block diagram, control diagram, termination diagram, electrical load calculation HVAC system logic diagram, HVAC Cable schedule etc.
• Ensure the HVAC system design and equipment selection are compliance with client specification, class regulation and hazardous area classification.
• Submission of HVAC/Architectural Design document and drawings for class approval.

• Interface with other disciplines and provide necessary guidance on HVAC/Architectural installation.

• Prepare Red-Line Mark-up as per site changes and submit to Engineering Dept to prepare as-built.

· Knowledge in cell characterization tools (e.g. Liberate or SiliconSmart or Viola)

· Knowledge in Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) designs (full custom design methodology)

· Knowledge in digital circuit reliability issues (e.g. latch-up, soft error rates, aging, threshold voltage shift, etc.)

· Experience in digital foundation library cell development (e.g. combinational cells, sequential logic cell, memory cells, IOs)

· Experience in library cell characterization (e.g. understanding in various timing and power models)

· Experience on circuit testing

Requirements:

• A database wizard, adept in designing, managing, and optimizing databases (SQL, NoSQL, etc.), with a solid foundation in data analysis and machine learning
• Versatile across various operating systems including Linux, Mac OS, Windows
• An excellent problem solver with a keen eye for detail, and experience in agile methodologies and DevOps practices
