Element has an opportunity for an Associate Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. In this role, you will perform a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.

This role is based in Sungei Kadut Loop, Singapore.

Job Duties:

• Provide technical and engineering leadership, and supports the development of new technologies within a local laboratory and be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including sign-offs of quality control data as acceptable
• Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing and have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities
• Interact with customers on technical issues and questions and provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers
• Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders and assist in the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory and carry out crucial examination and implementation of testing concepts and data
• Utilize an assortment of skill, methods, procedures and materials in advanced testing analysis and be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions

Job Requirements:

• Possess a Bachelor Degree in Materials Science, Materials Engineering or Civil Engineering

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled High Voltage/Medium Voltage Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of high voltage and medium voltage systems in offshore substations. This role requires extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles, offshore operations, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Design and Development: Collaborate with the system supplier to design and develop HV/MV systems and equipment (Electrical, Protection & SCADA) for offshore substations.
• System Analysis: Familiar with Electrical calculations and system analysis to determine specifications and ensure optimal performance to meet client requirements.
• Compliance: Ensure all HV/MV systems comply with relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Inspection and Testing: Perform regular inspections, conduct factory testing and support in field commissioning to assess the technical compliance and performance of HV/MV equipment.
• Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Diagnose and provide technical support in resolving technical issues on HV/MV systems and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other engineers, technicians, vendors and regulatory bodies and clients to address and solve problems related to HV/MV systems.
• Documentation: Prepare detailed reports, system architecture diagrams, purchase specifications, functional description and control philosophy to document system designs, construction, modifications, and maintenance activities.
• Preventative Maintenance: Collaborate with the system supplier to develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures for HV/MV systems to ensure safety and performance.

Requirements:

• Education: Minimum bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• Experience: At least 3 ~ 5 years of relevant experience in high voltage or medium voltage engineering, preferably in an offshore environment.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and teamwork abilities, proficiency in using electrical design software.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications in high voltage or medium voltage engineering are a plus.
• Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of electrical engineering principles, high voltage systems, offshore operations, and safety regulations.

Job Scope

The Process Engineer applies engineering principles and techniques to optimise the production processes in a manufacturing environment to meet organisational objectives. His/her work also includes troubleshooting process engineering issues and developing work instructions for out-of-control processes. He/she will be required to analyse manufacturing/maintenance issues and recommend engineering solutions.

In addition, the Process Engineer leads production and manufacturing systems improvement projects and is expected to develop operation plans per organisational objectives. He/she would also be required to ensure compliance with workplace safety, health and other regulatory requirements in his/her line.

The Process Engineer is required to have strong communication skills to collaborate with the production and maintenance team to meet organisational outcomes.

The process engineer will report directly to the Managing Director and Plant Manager.

Tasks

• Adopt new technologies to improve process monitoring.
• Develop work instruction and control plan.
• Enforce compliance with safety and good manufacturing practices and processes in production areas.
• Implement network solutions for production improvement.
• Investigate Out of Control (OOC) and improve the Process Capability (cpk).
• Investigate the root cause of process failures.
• Lead continuous improvement projects.
• Lead working level community exploring opportunities for improvement projects.
• Maintain quality assurance system.
• Manage manufacturing processes using statistical modelling.
• Monitor process performance data to establish good control parameters.
• Review the abnormality report.
• Troubleshoot process engineering issues.
• Conduct technical presentations to management and peers.
• Perform training.

Qualification and Experience

· At least a diploma or degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Process Engineering.

· At least 3 to 4 years of work experience in the Electromechanical Industries as a process technician or associate engineer.

· Candidates with the following experience will be an advantage

o Recycling or refining industries (Incinerator, Crushing, Melting, Plating, etc)

o Project Management

· A team player to work alongside with peers

· Willingness to attend certain courses/licences such as Hazardous Materials Transport Driver (HMDR), WSH Work at Height etc on behalf of the company

· Willing to travel occasionally if required

· Any other duties and job scopes that may be assigned by the Managing Director/Plant Manager

· Class 3 driving licence (mandatory)
