As an Automation Engineer, you will be enabling factory automation solutions to aid backend manufacturing goals on cycle time, inventory, quality and productivity. You are expected to assimilate core expertise on mechanical or electrical design, sub-components, industry best practices, safety requirements. Responsibilities and Tasks
Establish standards to enable automation solutions
• Standardize mechanical and electrical design, sub-assemblies, process control & vision solutions

• Standardize design for WIP carriers - FOUPS, Cassette, Magazine, JEDEC tray, PCB Racks etc
• Develop and review process tool automation requirements (TAR) catered to AMHS & Stocker interfaces
• Augment factory tool layout standards catered to AMHS, stockers and ASRS requirements
• Publish Design for Automation guidelines on new products

Review opportunities and build roadmap on global factory automation
• Approve design review on automation solutions
• Ensure standardization on designs across the network based on BKMs or prototyping experience
• Review technical procurement specification (Doc2/TAR) provided to vendors
• Establish & review ROI analysis methodology

Strategic partnership with automation solution provider
• Performs research and survey on industrial best practices and automation direction
• Leverage supplier technology roadmap to align with Micron automation needs
• Develop and drive innovation that reaps significant bottom-line benefits
• Provide models for cost and lead-time to drive effective negotiation with suppliers

Establish performance KPIs for automation solution at manufacturing network
• Ensure solutions meet the requirements on payback analysis published
• Create & publish metrics related to AMHS and Stocker performance
Review and drive system performance improvement through CIP program

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science in fields such as mechanical, electrical, industrial, computer or automation.
• Minimum 3 years working experience in engineering or automation field
• Strong verbal and communication skills, team player
• Experience in managing automation project from beginning to end is advantageous

• Review of enquiries and contract tenders.
• Ensuring that relevant sections of the ITT are distributed internally to the appropriate departments.
• Attending meetings with tender pursuit team and identify responsibilities, required inputs and key
  dates.
• Review of all information relating to bid, clarification of responses received from internal support
  departments and insertion of qualifications into bid document as appropriate.
• Preparation and compilation of quotes and proposals in accordance with ITT guidelines.
• Maintaining single point of contact for the client during the bid and bid clarification phases.
• Assisting Sales Admin Clerks with sales order entry and revisions in Epicor.
